Is anybody heading to RMP on 4/5 w/ Hooked on Driving? I haven't run with them before but am looking forward to getting back to the ridge.

Of course, it being the ridge, it looks like rain..

Nope, but I'll be interested to hear your experience as I plan to go to ORP with them in May.

My car is all set up and ready. FLCAs and tie rod ends are installed. Doug had trouble corner balancing my car, though, as it seems my driver front strut is sticking a little. But neither he nor I can feel a difference on the road, so I'm gonna send it for now. Probably rebuild them come fall.

I'll let you know. I'm really hoping we at least get some respite from the rain. I've only had a few days up there in the dry so far.

I just had my car tuned up by Doug yesterday as well. Sounds like you did the full deal. What all do you have done as it relates to suspension? I recall that you had T2s and some other goodies?

RCE T2s with 400lb springs; Cascam in the front, 1" raceseng mounts in rear (formerly 2"). Front has SPL FLCAs, SPL tie rod ends, and whiteline adj endlinks (will replace with SPL eventually as they're almost too long still). Rear has SPC LCAs and some whiteline bushing inserts.

Doug got the corners as close as he could with the sticking front strut.* Alignment is -3.3f / -2.2r, zero toe front and a tiny bit toe-in for the rear. Caster is around -6.8 for now so nothing crazy. I'm anxious to see how the corrected roll center will feel on track.

Not going to mess with anything else for the moment, as I've already spent too much >_<

*He ended up keeping my car for 4 days because we couldn't figure it out. Even if he didn't change anything, the weights would change by upwards of 50lbs every time he jacked up and lowered either the rear or the front. He pulled out my suspension 2-3 times to futz with stuff. Felt kinda bad that my car was so much trouble. Turns out that while the driver front strut moves fine by hand, it sticks a little when mounted on the car. He thinks there's some side-loading that may be causing the sticking. Regardless, the car feels fine on the road, so whatever. I didn't want to pay for another alignment so soon after this one.

Maybe I'll convince myself to get some JRZs after this season.

Officially registered for the 5/4-5/5 event at ORP. Staying in Biggs Junction, I guess. Should be fun.

I'm headed out to the IRDC HPDE and TnT this Saturday (13th) at Pacific Raceways to see if the race car works as intended and to check out the new pavement.

They repaved T2-T7 and put in new (proper) FIA curbes in T4/5/6.

The pavement is awesome back there. I was lucky enough to lay down the first rubber!

On an unrelated note, here are some photos from HOD's 4/5 event at RMP. Dirty and wet!

Your shots look like The Ridge as opposed to Pacific Raceways. Either way I'm jelly!

Not sure how Saturday will turn out at Pacific. I don't have rain tires and it's suppose to dump rain on Saturday so unless the weather gods are kind - I may not get to enjoy the new pavement.

Edited my post for clarity. I was just continuing on with an unrelated topic! I was at PR on 3/24. No pictures but I do have a couple onboards

PR wasn't too bad in the light rain. I was able to run along at a steady clip. I have no other data points though since it was my first day out there. RMP on the other hand was a nightmare in the pouring rain. Felt like driving on ice. And I've driven there 4 times in the wet now!

Shelton is a bit of a convergence zone so it feels like it "always rains at The Ridge."

Man, I wish you were coming out to PR this Saturday. I just ordered a set of RE71Rs that I'll mount on my 2nd set of wheels so I can play if it's wet or dry. Registration is still open if you can make it.

I think 4 of 6 events I've attended there have been in the wet. It's getting a bit tiring at this point! At least its great practice.

Wish I could come out this weekend. I'll be out at RMP on 4/26, however!
