Performance Shop in NJ?

Well it appears my son blew his motor is his 2016 2.0 Series FRS, mechanic friend said it sounds like a rod bearing is spun. Going to try to see if Toyota will warranty the motor under the 60K powertrain warranty (currently have 45K miles), but my guess is they'll find a reason not to since he has an aftermarket exhaust on it. In anticipation of them saying "NO", I'm trying to locate a shop that specializes in the 86 motor so he can have it rebuilt with better quality parts with performance mods. Can anyone recommend a shop? We live near LBI, exit 67 on the GSP.

Thanks!

I'd put the stock exhaust back on so they don't say anything. Save some money man

Cat back or header? If he replaced the header and tuned the car, and there is a reasonable way to claim the tune/header caused the failure, you may be SOL. However, if just a cat back was thrown on to the stock header/op/fp, and no tune was applied, Toyota would be hard pressed to blame anything on that. They may put up a fight, but it doesn't mean they would win that fight. Please note that they'll also likely want proof of proper maintenance (oil changes) in order to disprove that the issue was caused by neglect.

Really like AZP Installs when I had my car. Even took my Honda accord to them twice.

+1 for AZP installs. I've been going there for years and they really take care of you.
