BRZ3N Series.HyperBlue OEM+ Build.

Jordan’s BRZ3N Build

Unique, Bold, Shameless

2016 Subaru BRZ Series.HyperBlue #631

Prelude:

Hello fellow auto enthusiasts, my name is Jordan and the following thread consists of my OEM performance build for my 2016 Subaru BRZ Series.HyperBlue. I absolutely loved the car the way it was when I first drove it home and while I planned and still plan on modifying the car in a tasteful and subtle manner, my auto passion has continuously grown and driven me to go further than I even originally realized. Even today, the way this car makes me feel every time I hop in and those wheels get to rolling and those horizontally opposed pistons start moving I can’t help but have a smile from ear to ear. In the time since, I have nicknamed it “Bernie” and have chosen to name my build “Brazen” or in this case “BRZ3N”. I love this vehicle and community and am always open to connecting with others out there. With that said, feel free to ask away or provide feedback. I always like to talk, small or big. Thanks for your time!

-Jordan Silveira

My Introduction to Automotive Passion

Hey there,

My name is Jordan Silveira. I live in Southern California. I am 24 and have just recently discovered my passion for vehicles. It all started with my first car, I owned a Milano Red 96' Honda Prelude BB1. It had quite a lot going for it 5th gen sunroof conversion, 5 lug conversion, K Sport suspension, ITR wheels, short shifter, AEM fuel regulator, DC headers, AEM CAI, Skunk 2 manifold. This was my Lucy Lude and she was my introduction to cars.

I then had to let Lucy Lude go because it became unreliable. I was the 8th owner and it just had too many cooks in the kitchen. I then got a 2013 Scion tC RS 8.0. This was my Lady Red, Melisandre. Mel for short. I loved this car and went all out by paint matching the interior trim, Five Axis S7F wheels to match the Five:AD body kit Troy Sumitomo and his crew put together. Spec D tails and heads. I also had OEM Audio and that was definitely my favorite mod. Sandy and Daniel are magic in the automotive audio game and can truly say I had a concert hall in my tC. In short, I loved this vehicle but was hit on my passenger side and the car never was the same. I currently have the payments being taken over by family and thus, this allowed me to get my 2016 Subaru BRZ Series.HyperBlue!

I got the car as an unwind vehicle from Subaru of Glendale as "used" with 190 miles. I purchased the car on March 22nd, 2016. I was pretty pleased with the deal I got. Since then I have been babying the car until I could get a nice wash, clay, buff, polish, wax, and clear bra. With that said. Here are some initial pictures. I plan on building my BRZ along the lines of OEM performance parts and modifications. I enjoy very subtle, simplistic, and minimalist modifications.

Craigslist Value

First thing I bought for my BRZ was an OEM Subaru Cargo Tray, and OEM BRZ Car Cover.

I ended up getting both for 100 dollars and thought that was a pretty solid deal. I had to clean up the cargo tray quite a bit but the car cover and cargo tray now look like new.

Overall, it was a purchase I am pretty happy about.

AutoTuned...Homebase For The BRZ3N One.

My next mod came yesterday on April Fool's. When I got the vehicle as an unwind the dealer had it sitting on the lot for longer than usual, at which point they would "wash" it if that's what you want to call it. Really they wet sanded my car and left so many swirls I knew upon purchasing I would be looking into getting a detail to buff out and polish many of the swirls and imperfections in the paint. With that said, before I even decided to buy an 86 I knew that even though I didn't necessarily want a clear bra, I NEEDED a clear bra for the oh so exclusive and beautiful HyperBlue paint. Well, in short I contacted AutoTuned and Young Tea knowing his expertise in the industry and not just the type of work, but the quality I can expect to get from AutoTuned in regards to working on my BRZ3N 86.

So, I went and had my car buffed and detailed in the morning to head straight to AutoTuned for my clear bra. It was truly an honor meeting Young since I have been aware of his work since Simpli-tC. I was super excited to watch the process and couldn't be happier to have started working with AutoTuned in turning my BRZ into the dream I hope to achieve one day. I truly feel so relieved to have a place I can call a home away from home with my car and any automotive needs I may possess. It only took the majority of a day to realize how great of a person Young is and his whole team at AutoTuned and can easily say I would be hard pressed to trust anyone else with my car. As I said earlier, it is truly an honor and blessing to work with AutoTuned. Now that I am protected I feel like I can actually drive around now. As of now, I have spent maybe 2 hours of drive time in my BRZ since I got it on the 22nd. I have been driving my tC around to prevent any damage to the HyperBlue paint until I got my clear bra done. Needless to say, it definitely isn't an exciting mod but it provides piece of mind and now I feel I can start moving in the direction of the mods I want to pursue for aesthetics, performance, and otherwise. Anyways, enough talking and here are some pictures from yesterday's adventures.

Just my lucky number so I had to capture on my ODO.

Welcome Back

Hey FT86Club, it's been a long time since I've updated this thread but I've just been busy. I've gone through quite a bit from purchasing various parts to continue my build, to having the car out on the sideline for over a month and fighting tooth and nail with Subaru over a problem that I was falsely accused of. Anyways, I'm back with an update on my BRZ3N build. I haven't taken much pictures but needless to say I am enjoying this car so much! Since I’ve last posted I’ve passed the break in period of the FA20, I am just shy of 5,000 miles currently and have been able to stockpile some parts that I hope to add on once the time comes in the near future.

Exterior Realization

I've been slowly acquiring more and more parts in the efforts to continue the realization of my OEM+ performance build. Since the last post I have gotten some black 18 inch JDM STI Enkei Wheels. Huge thanks to @kuczynskika. Can't thank you enough for helping my build! I will be holding off to put these on until I decide what tires to go with and get some TPMS and McGard STI lug nuts.

Yesterday, I was able to get some time in at AutoTuned with Young Tea. First and foremost I cannot begin to express the thanks to Young and the AutoTuned brand for helping bring along the progress of my BRZ3N build and the friendship between Young and I as time goes by. I cannot begin to say enough good about AutoTuned and would highly suggest if you need work done you go through AutoTuned.

Anyways, the laundry list for yesterday consisted of the remainder of the STI aero kit, and the Scion sliding armrest. All in all it was a great day and I really like how much more complete Bernie looks with the new additions.

Here are some photos:

BRZ3N: Unique, Bold, and Shameless

"The Arts" Vanity Plates came in today. As a California boy born and raised I love the "Arts" plate for its roots and tradition just steeped in a California'esque look with the sea, beach, sunset, palm trees. Anyways, I love the look and glad I can finally sport the BRZ3N name!

I agree I'm excited to further extend the OEM performance look I am going for. Sadly, I don't mean to disappoint but those wheels may be sitting and collecting dust for a while until I get McGard Lugs, new rubber, and TPMS for them.

For the Scion Armrest W/HyperBlue Stitching, who did the HyperBlue stiching for you? I am looking to get my Tom's armest stiched for Series.Blue.

Oh and how much if you don't mind me asking did AutoTuned charge to install the STi Gurney Flap & Subaru Rear Diffuser?
