Hey all, long-time lurker here as well, reading up all I can about the stories you guys have shared about your cars and finally made my decision to jump on an 86 GT for my first personal vehicle. Definitely a breath of fresh air from my family's Sienna (*shudder*, glad it's gone), and so far, I'm loving it. Probably wasn't the most cost-effective choice, but in the end, I love her all the same, and she handles like a dream! Really does seem like one of those cars that can "teach its driver".
Definitely looking forward to talking to you all and learning all I can about what makes this car tick. Pleased to meet you all~ Last edited by Renault Discordia; 10-17-2019 at 05:50 PM. |

Hello all,
Been eyeing up an FRS or BRZ for a long while, but now, as winter is hitting the Canadian Prairies, I decided to pull the trigger, trading in my tuned, methanol-drinking Elantra GT Sport for a 2014 FR-S in Raven. Soon to start modding that too, although gotta take it slowly at first with the freezing cold. First mod was winter tires! |

Hello all- long, long time lurker here, way back to even before the twins came out. I got my 2013 FR-S in Ultramarine Blue brand new but never got around to doing much with it. Got it as an AT as a compromise when I really wanted the MT, but thanks to darthfrs and various others I’m now working on a AT to MT swap, plus a few other small projects. Planning on contributing back to the community with what I learn.

Hi all-- I'm the happy new owner of a white 2019 BRZ Limited! I was in a 2003 WRX wagon until I sold it a year ago.
It'll mostly be a daily driver, and I ski a lot, so of course it took <2 weeks for me to get winter tires on it (going skiing this weekend). But I hope to get some time to do track time and/or autox with it, but that has to wait till warm weather reappears-- until then I'll just have to play in the snow. I'll probably keep it mostly stock apart from wheels/tires/brakes to help the fun factor as desired. |

Hello everyone, Murrieta, Ca. here. My son’s 2013 FR-S just spun a rod bearing. It would be easy to give up on this car but we are keeping it because my son loves it. We had just put a good chunk of change into a tune up and suspension upgrade and feel it would be worth it in the end to get the engine issue taken care of. The rod bearing issue occurred about 6,00 miles after the infamous J02 valve spring recall performed by our local Toyota dealership. Upon researching the recall issues I came across this forum, so, happy to be a member and looking forward to being “schooled ” by the members. Thank you, Forrest

Hi, I just joined, mainly to be able to add my sad story to the post J02 recall registry thread (https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show....php?p=3281552). Reading the forum has been immensely useful so far, thanks!

Hey everyone, new here. I've had my 2018 86 for about a week and a half now. Gonna be flashing to E85 with OFT as soon as this tank is empty
Been a lurker for a bit contemplating buying into the 86 platform, super happy I did. Hope to get to know some of you as I build up the car! |

That's pretty much where I'm at now. I've been dreaming about buying a nice used stock platform and easing into the mods. OFT and a stage 1 tune is high on my radar, with UEL header and full exhaust (not sure on catted or not) shortly after. For a summer/weekend ride, my local shop "may or may not" allow the uncatted inspection. Other than that, I don't really think this car needs much else to be hilarious affordable fun.
