Milhouse's FRS Build
I have a 2013 Black manual FRS. I am just about to click over 100k miles and finally ready to get it on the track! Thankfully I live in Michigan so race tracks are plentiful!
This is my baby! I always say I have never had more fun in a slow car. So far she is stock and has been my daily driver for a few years. Nothing crazy planned, mainly going to spend my effort to get on the track as much as possible. I plan to go forced induction, probably a Jackson Racing Supercharger. Keep the boost low till I build the bottom end. First track day is August 25th so between now and then I am just gonna put on some new rubber and change out fluids and pads. Update: Blown Engine 9/22/19 - Change of plans... F*** it, time for full send!! She got an oil change this past week and I stopped at tire rack for some new rubber! Went with Hankook RS4's. I am looking forward to putting them on over the next couple weeks.
Also ordered a flexfuel kit from @DeliciousTuning this weekend!! Going to pair it with JDL UEL headers next month but I want to get the tune in now before I am at Waterford hills raceway on the 25th. I do not know how to heel toe and I do not plan to learn. Stopped at Lane automotive here in Michigan. They were great!! I was able to get a helmet I really like with a neck brace and some other goodies. They even had Valvoline VR1 10w30 I needed for my Olds 442! Going to do an oil change on that today. Here is my Instagram for pictures. I do not know how to load them without it being a pain in the ass. https://www.instagram.com/spidercars86/?hl=en

Yah Ill upload track pics when I finally get there in 2 weeks! Just wanted to keep the space. My wife and I were injured pretty badly a few years ago and I spent a LOT of time reading peoples build threads while we were going through 2 years of hospital and surgery hell. Dreamed of my own build one day. For sure will not be as epic as some builds on here but should be fun to document the process.

So yesterday I went to I stall my flex fuel tune and I planned on pulling my headers. I just put new tires on Thursday last week. Well I had 2 stripped bolts and 2 bolts shear off.
Last time I go to Bell tire. I will be stopping by tomorrow to complain. Glad I did not hit the track like that. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Had my first day at the track last weekend! It was a blast! I was hoping I might break a 1.30 at Waterford Hills in Michigan. The car preformed amazing and I ended up pulling a 1.27.8!!! I started out in the novice class. By the end of the day I was unable to get a clean lap anymore. It was fun passing everyone though! Never had someone on my tail unless it was a backup in front of me.
I barely had the car completed in time but we got her done. Big shout out to Arbor Motion in Ann Arbor for getting me in last min for a track inspection. If anyone needs a shop in the Detroit suburbs try here. It was nice to know I was all ready to go and have a pro do the break flush. It's been a while so I will tackle that in spring when I get ready for next season. Also @FT-86 SpeedFactory for the quick delivery!! I needed a few things last min and it came right on time! I am heading back to Waterford Hills on the 22nd of September. I'll have the front splitter and rear diffuser on so hoping it keeps me a little more planted on a couple turns in particular. I wanted to get the Racecomp Engineering Tarmec 2's on this season but it is going to have to wait. I have never done suspension work and I do not want to risk not making a track day. Enjoying the build but seat time is more important!! [Updated mod list in post #1]

Well it was an eventful weekend! Gingermen was a great racetrack! My only complaint would be they did not have as many nice clean grassy run offs as Waterford. Several grassy areas in the middle of the track where lumpy and would not be nice to your car. Saw a Vette rip his front bumper off on one such area. I push a little but I like to stay in my competence range.
The car felt really great! I have added a Verus Engineering adjustable splitter and rear diffuser (+ exhaust hole cover/suspension covers) since the last track day. To say the car feels better at speed would be an understatement. She ran great! We were expecting rain all weekend so it was a small group both days. Sunday was only 3 people in the morning and 4 people in the afternoon. It ended up only drizzling rain the last 2 hours of Saturday and we were soaked Sunday morning but track was dry by 1pm Sunday. Saturday started out quick. With only 11 people we just ran 2 groups. Novice and Intermediate/advanced. I spent 2 hours of ON TRACK DRIVING just Saturday morning. It was really great but not having an instructor with me only once Saturday afternoon definitely made me learn more but I was slower and frustrated finding the line in a few corners. By the end of Saturday, I had a few hours on track and one session with an instructor. It was really fun to see the instructor run my car for a few laps Saturday. He was happily surprised with the car. He made a few comments about how well it was hooking up and breaking. The good news is I am pushing the car to the edge of traction really well on the RS4s and I can feel the slight bit of oversteer when I apply throttle in a turn. He had some great advice about my lines and I was able to pick up 4 seconds Sunday because of it but more on that later. Sunday morning we spent drifting due to the rain. I did end up pushing past my comfort zone a couple times (on purpose in safe areas). The car feels extremely neutral in the rain. All 4 tires were trying to slid when it was really wet. I was trying to use the throttle to induce more over-steer but I was doing something wrong. I spun out twice and had one gentle off track in a smooth grassy area. No damage. Learned a lot more about the balance of the car and I was able to hold some small drifts through corners by the end of the morning but I need a lot of work. After 1pm on Sunday the track was dry and we started running hard. There was a sweet new BMW M2 competition package, a 90s BMW stripped and stock on some shitty no weather track tires, and a fully stripped and built out Camaro on slicks. With just 4 people they opened the track they said go nuts just don’t be stupid. The new line I was on from my run with the instructor felt a lot better and I started connecting corners. I was running with the Camaro my last session, I was a lot faster than the other two, and we started hot lapping. He had to let me by because of my corner speed. Once I got around him, I started creating a gap, corners not the straights obviously, and by my last lap he was out of sight. I ended the day with a 1:52 seconds and was extremely pleased with the time! Now for the bad news…. She felt great my last run out. Did not notice anything out of whack. On my cool-down lap about half way through I started hearing a clicking sound. Tried to baby it back to the pit but on the back half of the track my dash lit up and the engine turned off. We towed it back to the pits and I tried turning her back on. The engine started up but there is a loud clunking coming from the engine and the crank pulley is wobbling… I am working on plans for what comes next but Gratten in 2 weeks is not gonna happen. Maybe I will get down to Atlanta motor speedway this winter. I just got my @Racecomp Engineering Tarmec 2’s in the mail…… Not even installed yet… so sad. Built engine here we come!!!!

Excited for what comes in the future!
When you get the car back together I'd be happy to be your instructor if you still want one at Waterford. Last time I took my BRZ out, I was able to pull ~1:22's bone stock on Michelin all seasons at waterford. I have NO doubt we can get your times down past that no problem.

Picked up a new to me 2015 Audi A4 with 44,xxx miles. Miss my old 2011 BMW but you gotta be ready for more maintenance on those and I don't like the newer ones. So I figured this would be a fun daily while I rebuild my baby.

Getting her stripped down. Going to try to tackle the crash beam this weekend.
Does anyone know if it has bolts to come out? I am going to pull the radiator and replace it while we are in there. Going to the smaller windshield washer tank to make room for break cooling down the road while I have everything open as well. Plan to pick up a used engine hoist locally. Seeing them for about $150. Gonna be fun!...I think Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
