paint restoration : Subaru WRX - bringing the paint back to life

Here is a Subaru WRX I did not too long ago. I have a WRB BRZ on order so I have a secret love for blue subies.

Just goes to show that with some time and effort you can restore years of neglect.

Claybar

50/50 shot of before and after

Door isn't polished - fender is

Dirty exhaust tip

Cleann

All shiny:

I don't have a before interior shot but the interior was pretty bad.. This is after a wipe down, vacuum, shampoo, and re dress

It's amazing what washing the car with papertowels and windex can do to your car haha.

My lord, I thought my sentra was bad, that makes it look like it was in excellent shape!

Guess my 6 and 9 year old's can wash a car better than that guy!

Very nice work! What polish did you use?

The owner told me that he washes his car with windex and paper towel. So I wasn't expecting the paint to be very good.

It was 105, 205, and 85rd. All of these photos are actually just after 105. I didn't even apply the finishing polish and sealant+wax yet. The gloss was very clear after the wax was applied.

Unfortunately the owner hasn't taken car of the paint since and it's swirled again. Some people just don't have the time or conscious to maintain the paint at such a detailed level.

"The owner told me that he washes his car with windex and paper towel."

It's ok my girlfriend dries her car with paper towel too. She obviously doesn't do it anymore but she did when I first met her. Some people just don't understand. You can't expect everyone to. Not good for your investment though. Who wants to buy a car that has scratches and swirls all over the car?
