Nankang NS-2R 120TW

Anyone tried the NS-2R 120TW, how does it compare to the RE71R for track day?

The price is a lot cheaper than RE71R. Also interested in the AR-1 as well.

Thanks!

Having issues finding detailed recent reviews on the NS-2R which may have an updated compound or design but older reviews put them on par with the AD08 which are slower than the AD08r which are slower than the RE71r so don't expect miracles in terms of track times. That said, these are reported to need some heat for maximum grip so they should tolerate heat much better than the RE71r. Also, a few people noted the NS-2R are absolutely terrible in the rain but on the other side, they also reported they last very long considering the cost although no definitive details regarding life were made.

The AR-1 is a grooved slick and seems to be very fast relative other tires in it's cost class and is very cheap. Even worse in the wet than the NS-2R.
