Constant "Grinding" Sound in Transmission?

Ok, so this just started a few hours ago, but my FRS suddenly started making a low whirring noise that almost sounds like a bike chain on the ground. It happens AROUND 4-4.5K RPMS and it almost sounds as if its occurring on the underside versus in the engine and is rather worrying. It's a decent volume, but it's mostly concerning since it happens in the lower gears. Clutch engagement and gear movement is fine, but it's the sound of it definitely feels like moving parts versus rattling exhaust or anything.

Any help or ideas? I think it might be a glazed clutch, but I haven't driven weird or hard on it at all.

I also got some video/bad sound clips of it. The sound is definitely right around 4-4.5k RPM's and can hover there even with my foot leveled on the gas. It sounds akin to a chain being dragged on the ground and is definitely coming from the front end of the car; not the rear or behind the drivers seat. Definitely a "grinding" whirring noise.

I apologize for my girlfriend's Cloverfield-esque footage haha

Can't play video on my phone. But sounds like what I have. It starts around 4k and goes all the way up to 7k in every gear. I think I fucked up the clutch in all honesty because I used to ride it and accidently grind gears. I'm at 40k miles. Getting it checked tomorrow. I'm prepared to spend some cash on new clutch etc. My first manual car. But I drive it fine now. It must of gradually gotten worse over time. B

Eww. That sounds like a wire scratching the clutch (use headphones, you'll hear it then).

Does it have a mechanical sound like grinding following at higher rpm?

Hey, if you take it apart, check clutch bearing. You ever drive it hard? Even once? Not all cars react the same even if they the same car. Maybe the surface on the fingers(name?) aren't wearing out evenly. If it does that same sound on all gears, imo check drive shaft front. I googled and I guess its called 'torque shaft?'

Don't have shift problems either. Happens in low to mid speeds and all gears but was not happening in 5th when this video was taken. Hope is the throw out bearing.

Something may be loose, cat shield or similar. gently bang on some things in the exhaust area with the rubber handle of a hammer. Firm taps may rattle something.

What ended up being your issue, mine is doing the exact same sound after my last track day.
