Uncool for me just because I find the price outrageous.

This one is firmly on the borderline for me. It's a nice car, but feels too refined for me. It doesn't have that aggressive feeling you get from things like the Ford ST hatches (Fiesta/Focus). It's more of a "moderately spicy hatch". That may be a good thing for some people, though.

I voted cool on this, but it could go either way depending on how I feel that day.

Cool, subtle, fun, practical.

Can drop off Kristin Scott Thomas at an afternoon event, hit the backroads for an hour or two, pick her up and drive home.

Cool.

80% of the thrills of an Evo/STI but 10x as luxurious for pretty much the same price.

Looks like a regular Golf with minor body kit. Understeers for days. Costs as much as an STi but is nowhere near as fast. Only thing it's got going for it is a nice interior. Uncool.

90% of the fun of a STi or Evo, with a substantially better interior and a more civilized ride for the same price

.... seems cool to me

The just-revealed Mk7 R will be much cooler - big jump to 300 hp, drops about 100 lbs, and VW claims to have taken the handling to full neutral from massive understeer.

Biggest uncool factor in Canada is the price, the Mk 6 was $47K. Ridiculous, you could get a nicely outfitted 135i for that money.

Nobody besides you and other VW enthusiasts can the difference between it and a regular, pedestrian Golf...uncool, despite its performance. It looks like a everyday Golf.
