They make automatic STI's, yo. Been that way since... 2011? Or possibly 2012. JDM and New Zealand at least.

And it's a the "tS" BRZ. Not "BRZ STI".

Just import the body kit. Already readily available and on some of our cars here in the US. Plus, the gurney looks far better than the wing thats on that car so profit!

Actually, I'm kinda confused whether the full aero kit is on this car or just the lip spoiler. Looking at all the marketing photos, some have the side skirts and spats, others just have the lip spoiler (this is based on images on STi's own site). Same thing with the sports muffler. Some images show the standard exhaust tips, while others definitely show the sports muffler on the car.

EDIT: looking at the listed exterior equipment on the page, it looks like it is just the front lip spoiler. Interesting how they add the full body kit and exhaust on their press photos though

M sport is basically what this variant amounts to. All bling

I think that because this thing has so many STI logos they are not going to build a "real" STI version.

Maybe this is to see how well the STI logo is recieved by the 86 community see if theres a market....I think if this comes to the US itll sell well. Even with an auto...not everyone wants/needs a manual transmission. I'd love to have this version if the price is right...Id drive the crap out of it. Maybe I'll be able to trade the 86 in on it...maybe not. Either way its nice just THAT WING....:/

And It looks like theres 2 versions a GT and non GT version wingless and winged with sideskirts recaros etc....?

The STI is still coming. Subaru has released tS variants in the past i.e. forester tS followed by a forester STI. And as mentioned, the tS IS basically equivalent to what BMW offers in their M performance packages. I don't see a problem with this, as STI is as much an aftermarket accessories division as a full tuning arm. We see plenty of M-badged accessories on BMWs, AMG accessories on regular Mercedes, R-line accessories on VW,s hell TRD parts on FRS, so why is everyone all upset that Subaru is doing this (in fact, STI has been offering full line of parts across all their models in Japan for years). Similarly if I bought a 3 series, I'd automatically tick the M sport package for the improved suspension and body kit. The M3 will always be amazing, but I don't necessarily need that car for what I'd be using it for. It's a nice in-between.

As far as this being "all bling," you get improved suspension tuning and parts, better drive shaft, an aero kit, better brakes, recaros, etc. Is that not an improvement? Its all bling just because it didn't get a power upgrade? Is that the only way to make a car better? It's not a secret that Tada-san engineered the 86/FRS/BRZ as handling first, and this car just improves on this mission. If everyone just wants more power there's always the hyundai, ford, etc. dealer across the street.

Based on STi's site the GT package just adds the wing and recaros.

Lol you sound upset. I actually don't care as I wouldn't want a ts or STI anyway. As long as the base recipe of the car doesn't change it's more cost effective to do my own upgrades. I was just voicing my prediction.

I think the OG BRZ should have come with those guages... much more dynamic with the white lettering.

Converts to ~$40K USD; though that's not the right way make the conversion.
