15 minutes my ass! did you have a lift or what? or did you remove the drive shaft? took me few hours.. and a couple breaks here and there. If you dont mind can you tell me how you finished pushing the link into the new adapter piece that has the black plastic inside with the clip and washer securing the end?

My totally uneducated guess...
It probably moves the point where the linkage connects to the shifter (either higher or lower) which results in a shorter throw.

I really have no idea though since
I've never looked at it either.

Yes on a lift. No I didn't have to remove anything. Just took the bolt out on one side, took spring out, put new in, then did the same on the other side. I don't really remember the black plastic piece but I think I just pushed it in?

I was really close to making one and nice pictures, but working on the floor with jack stands made it super hard. and I couldnt see half the time... Word of advice for anybody going to install this on their own. You will have a very hard time pulling off the factory rubber boot without tearing. I ripped mine. But they supply a new one. And if you can, remove the drive shaft. Everthing is directly under it, and made everything way harder having it there. And most importantly. Use lots of soapy water or some type of oil to get that stupid black plastic filler on the adapter so it can slide easily over the connecting shaft. that is going to be the most pain in the ass for anybody installing themselves. good luck. you have been warned.

Just tried out this shifter today on OP's car. I don't know how it works, but it does, and I will be buying this piece soon. My car already has the whiteline transmission insert, subframe inserts, and MTEC springs, all of which help shift feel. But this, this thing is amazing. If the throws were any shorter I'd say forget it, but it's perfect where it is right now.
