I've had more challenges with getting it into 1st when it's really cold than going from 1st to 2nd. I do a decent amount of 2nd gear starts until my car warms up in the winter as a result.

Living in Wisconsin, I've had this problem with pretty much every manual transmission I've had over the past 20 years. I just always started in 2nd. Never had issues with a clutch, other than the POS Plymouth Neon I learned to drive stick on (went out around 120k miles).

On my second winter the 1-2 shift really improved. I was around 40K km. Still on the stock fluid.
On my first winter, when the shift were still rough, doing a 1-2-1 shift with the clutch pressed before leaving seemed to help oil things up. Also not shifting before 3.5k rpm help.

But the 2 to 1 shift is still as bad. It's almost impossible for me to shift back into first unless the car is at a complete stop. Most of the time I do my first two stops in second gear.

If you are coming to a stop but not quite, try double clutching the 2-1 downshift but without a rev match. its usually butter smooth under 5mph.

2-1 downshift is on many MT cars speed limited to very low speeds, to prevent accidental money shift with overreving engine too much. Not trait of this particular gearbox, designed in safeguard in many manual transmissions. Rev matching can help get into 1st though even at higher speeds.

Yes I know, but in the summer I can easily downshift 2-1 while going 2-3 miles/h. When it's really cold, 1mph is still too fast. The wheels need to be completely stopped. After 2 minutes of driving, it's a lot better and I can downshift while still rolling slowly.

Last year I experimented with double clutch and it didn't help, but I could try again.

Edit: By cold I mean 10F and lower.
