Is there a lip?

Is there a lip that is made from a semi flexible material that sticks out far enough to act as a warning that you are touching a curb or parking bumper, in order to protect the fangs from accidental scrapes?
Just wondering, sooner or later circumstances may lead to a distance mis judgement!

If you are getting close enough to question whether you are too close, then you are too close. You could always get out the car and check though.

What is with all these lazy-ass'd individuals these days? Just get out and check.. it takes 5 seconds at the most!

pro-tip: If you park next to a black/grey or any dark coloured car that contrasts light well, you can check in the reflection of their paint whether or not if you're too close to the curb. I use that trick.

in all honesty, go to an empty parking lot, pull up to a line where you think your nose is (try to get the nose right at the line). Get out, see where you are. Do this like 5-10 times if you need to. If you keep going over... then adjust to always stop before you think you are at the right spot...

First day I had my car I thought I was good and scraped a curb. Ever since I have stopped 6-12 inches short of where I "think" I am good... Our car is so damn short that you could stop 3 feet short of where a curb is and still be completely in a space.

Get this thing where it has a base, and thislong plastic stick attached to a stop sign, and put it on where you want to park. So when you get closer it'll tap it and you know when to stop. Although it'll be impractical doing this everywhere LOL. But just learn to park backwards, or just dont go too close, some people just go way over for some reason..

You are very welcome. Thanks for allowing us to state all of those friendly really useless intuitively obvious answers!

I don't mean to be a smart ass or anything, but is it too much too just check?

Nope, been doing that, because it's kind of obvious!

Equally is it too much to ask if there is a semi flexible lip that blends in with the fangs so as not to trigger the need for some to judge the motivation behind the question, rather than share whether there is a useful answer?

If you are close enough to hear a "warning", then you either are over the parking stop (if it's one of the tiny ones), or you already damaged your fangs.

Practice with a cardboard box.

A polyurethane lip won't do jack shit. If your a rere who only mounts it with tape you will bust it off. If you correctly mount it with screws, when you hit something it will scrape and press against the bumper potentially scuffing it.

I've found this the cast with both the Chargespeed and Sti kits.
