Engine sputtering while idling with check engine light flashing, WTF

Just purchased FRS in Tenn 180 miles from home. Engine sputtering almost stalling and check engine light flashing. I think CEL is due to almost stalling. Anybody else experience these symptons? I am bummed out after being stoked about finally get to owning 1.

camshaft timing/positioning .. there're a lot of these reported popping up ...
some have some don't .. take to dealers immediately .. ToyoBaru seem to be trying to fix this as fast as possible :X
I'm at ~1.3k miles don't got this.

exactly what Bonburner said. I picked mine up with 4 miles on it, drove it home, the CEL came on - so I drove it immediately back to the dealer and had the head mechanic check it out. He said the same thing, camshaft timing. The light hasn't come back on for me since and I'm at 650 miles now.

Is it a bad batch of camshaft sensors or what?

Damn I'm pretty lucky. No sputtering no check engine light... I Would hate to leave my car at the dealer for an extended period of time.

Oh btw I'm at 7,498 miles , I bought the car 5/27/12

This thread needs to be moved into the "warranty" thread where there are already several hundred posts in the idle dip and CEL threads.

Since the engine was" almost stalling" and the CEL was flashing it could have been misfiring.

Yea, problems like a poorly fit panel or an over torqued screw(tail light assemblies), or the speaker grills popping up because they didn't shove the wire bundle in properly...not people losing their car for 3-6 weeks after a few hours or days of ownership while half the engine gets rebuilt by people who have never touched that specific engine before.

This is exactly my sentiment. I wonder if Toyota plans on paying me interest for my $25K that I have had nothing to show for going on a month now.
