What ENGINE OIL do they use for the 86/BRZ????

Just wondering... what engine oil do they use for 86/BRZ?? I know it's a OW-20 oil but what brand are they using??

Just enquiring because if I end up servicing the car myself, I want to make sure that I am using the same oil.

or

Is there a better oil I could be using?

Good question, I've tried to find info on this but can't seem to find anything in the other threads. People only talk about what they think they "should" use, not what comes factory supplied. For eg, does the BRZ use a subaru synthetic or mineral oil? Does the 86 use the toyota synthetic or mineral? What grade and viscosity? Are subaru and toyota factory supplied oils identical?

Yeah, I have read the thread that davey90 posted but I think I would still like to know the answer to my original question.

If anyone knows exactly what oil Toyota and Subaru are using, that would be great!

I really dont know what they use but I used mobil 1 0w-20. Next time I'll go to the dealer and just ask what they use for for the car and run it. I read around here a Blackstone oil test and the factory oil after 4500 miles came out very positive.

Dealer told me they use Castrol.. then at the first service they change to their personal choice.. at our first meet up in auburn everyone had a different oil brand service sticker after 1000km check.. I had Castrol on mine..
Book says 0w-20 or for more highway and high load driving 5w-30 is acceptable.. so I put Castrol edge 5w-30. Feels better somehow? :happy0180:

Hey Coyote,
Love your wheels. Did you move your TPMS over to the new wheels? If so where did you get the TPMS SERVICE KIT?
