I just didn't want it badly enough. The thought of committing like that is pretty damn tempting. And frightening!

Weight loss is tricky. Motivation is even trickier!

I could not maintain the weight (and BF%) I wanted till I quit drinking.

commitment is everything. if you are dedicated to proper diet and exercise you will lose weight.

I cut 34lbs for a show a few years ago. hardest 16 weeks of my life. completely different diet that anyone here should do of course. but as soon as it was over I put on 10lbs in the first week and was back a full 30lbs within a month. granted it was a completely different 30lbs than I was before. but the point is that's how fast it all can come back even for someone like me. if you're not in the shape I'm in and training like I did and do now it will be worse. we've all seen or know people that have been on that roller coaster before.

time your food right. make all your own meals and do interval cardio after weight training would be my cheap internet advice.

I found that losing weight is easy. I lost about 40 pounds in a few weeks a few years back. No special diet, no extra exercise, no surgery and no diet supplements.

It was called chemotherapy. -

Man, I've been going back to the gym lately and I'm already stronger than I was when I fell out of the habit over a year ago. I guess I kept some of it after all.

A big goal of mine is to be able to pull-ups. I've never been able to do a pull-up in my entire life. I use the assisted machine and if I was 160lbs I could do a pull-up, but I weigh 202lbs. Grip strength has always been a weakness, but it seems I've gotten to the point where my hands can now support my full weight. The annoying thing is my shoulders want nothing to do with it. So now I have to get my shoulders used to the weight without pulling them apart.

My goal for the next 12 months is 12 lbs. Nice and slow. I'm at 195 and would like to be at 175 eventually.

I go to the gym 4-5 times a week and still am not loosing weight for the same reason I eat healthy 90% of the time, but I eat a lot. At least I am reasonably fit even though my BMI list me as borderline obese.

Right? I've sworn up and down that I was NEVER going to diet. Dammit, that shit caught up with me. I started gaining weight when my knees gave out 20 years ago. Tried other forms of cardio to keep it off but...

I'd be thrilled to see 290 again but I LOVE GOOD FOOD!

Cardio is hard when it hurts to move.
