Jdmitr BRZ Limited journal/build thread

Here is my journal/build thread on my 2013 Subaru BRZ Limited SWP 6mt. I have been an AE86 fan/owner for a long time. I have owned several of them and I am currently building one for track/drifting with an F20c engine swap (from an S2000). From the moment I saw the FT86 concept years ago I have wanted one. I own a shop here in Boise Idaho that specializes in nearly all aspects of Japanese cars (service, maintenance, repair, performance etc) and so it was a perfect time to get a new "shop" car!

The Mods list so far:
- Buddy Club Racing Spec coilovers (had KW's)
- Rays Gram Light 57xtreme wheels in "Winning Blue"- 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear
- Rays Blue center caps
- Kics project Caliber blue lug nuts
- Falken FK452 tires - Front - 225/35/19 - Rear - 245/35/19
- JDM clear side markers
- MXP Catback exhaust +...
- Perrin Black intake tube
- Apex'i intake drop in filter
- Prova oil filters and Eneos oil

Just off the truck...waiting for the PDI!

Brought it home to the shop!

KW variant 3 coilovers!!

Installing the coilovers, wheels, and tires! First set of Gram Lights in Winning blue for BRZ/FRS in US

On the ground for the first time!

Pic by Curtis Pogue

Was able to get the first Buddy Club Racing spec coilovers in the US so I sold the KW's.

Removing the KW's and installing the Buddy Clubs

Got the MXP Catback exhaust and installed it...

More to come...

Thanks! Fronts are +33 and rears are +43. They werent all that bad to wait for. I was going to get the Matte gunmetal ones enjuku put on their car but I was about an hour too late to order them. Had to wait about 2weeks for the winning blues because they were already coming in to Mackin. As far as I know I have the first set of the blue ones here int he US.

Other info on them: Fronts weigh 21lbs and the rears are 22lbs - They are cast no forged but that isnt bad considering the OEM wheels are 21lbs if I remember right.

Good appearance! The BRZ white is more pretty. What is the KW suspension performance and 19 inches wheels is compared to the stock?

Not a fan a huge wheels on such a small car. But the black wheels hide the size well. White on black wheels looks fantastic!!! I was set on getting SSM, but your car pushed me over to SWP.

Thanks....so far the performance of the KW's is very good. I havent had a lot of time to work with the settings. I pretty much made an educated guess on the settings and haven't found the need to change them yet (mostly "spirited" daily driving). I do need to corner balance it and spend some setup time with them. As for the 19's I have not noticed a lack in acceleration like you normally would with bigger wheels mostly because the wheels weigh the same as stock. I like the feel of the wider wheels/tires in the rear.

I know the pics are a bit dark but the wheels are actually dark blue. I generally don't like the bigger wheels either but I feel they "fit" well on this car. I think personally that 17" look too small. Glad my car could help you decide on the color! :happy0180:

No issues so far but the one complaint I do have is that they aren't dual adjustable as far as the height adjustment is concerned. I deal with coilovers of various brands on a near daily basis so I will continue to add my feelings on them the more time I get with them.

Forgot to mention...I have had the wheels on for about 2 weeks now with NO tpms light! I did not install the sensors on the new wheels. I have a feeling that this may be a feature for "track" use?!

I really don't like 19's on this car but somehow these wheels just work. Keep up the good work!
