I don't know but at $2.50 (or even $2.501) a gallon for premium I would like to move there!

Lol that's probably why it's so cheap cause it's the state with the most people, but honestly it's not $2.50 it's actually $3.90 a gallon.

$10 = 2.501 gallons.

All I get from this thread is, why aren't you filling it to full? Who has time to waste doing trips to the pump to shove it in 10$ at a time? That's stuff my old father does because "keeping it empty is cheaper"

There are people on this forum that spend huge amounts of money on carbon fiber this and that to cut down on weight. Then they go to the gas station and fill the tank with gas to add another how many pounds to the car.
How much does gas weigh per gallon?
What's the difference in weight between a car with a full tank and one with 2 gallons in the tank?
I would guess about $4000 worth of carbon fiber.

We always used to laugh at the track when people talked about drilling holes in everything and weighting the parts or shavings to see how mush weight they had saved. They usually were, well, robust and skipping the 16 oz steak last night would have achieved the same result.

Fuel load was a consideration, usually for car balance. depending on the track and temp sometimes running a full load to half and others half to empty. (Very seldom did we run long races as that required a full pit crew.)

Gas is ~6 lb/gal here on earth. Ignoring the dregs at the bottom of an empty light illuminated tank we've got just about 80lb of gas to play with between the E and the F on my analog cluster. Each extreme definitely factors into how the rear end behaves and the fun rises as the needle drops.

Should've moved here last week Tcoat. The price for 93 octane was $2.49 last week. But then they readjusted the price this week to $2.39 for regular. Whenever the price gets too low, somehow every gas station in the county will be exactly the same price at exactly the same time. Usually 20 to 30 cents higher than it was before. Then the price will start to vary dropping maybe a cent every few days. Then, BOOM, readjustment and all prices are exactly the same again.
This is called a Free Market.
Capitalism

Price fixing? No way. It's just total coincidence.

But then I would have to live in Florida! I will stick with my $5 a gallon gas.
