Wonder if the Sophy integration will be implemented in the previous races, or just races on and after this coming update? Looking to be a good update at least.

I thought the Interlagos challenge was fairly straightforward. I actually thought it was very stable for such an overpowered car. Just cut every corner as much as possible, do not miss braking zones and go very easy on the throttle. Had silver within a couple laps but gold did take 20-30 additional laps. Most of the time I was losing in the first and last corner.

Sophy is a blast to compete against. It defends so well but knows when to move over when its being outpaced.

The Porsche GT3 drives like a wet dream. Holy shit. I think GT7 has corrupted me into wanting to buy a Porsche. I know I will never be able to afford a GT3, but still. Is like I never fully appreciated the pedigree that Porsche represents in the motorsport world.

Ha, I recall the moment I became Porsche-aware. Sat down in a brandy-new 997 GT3 and it was like, ahh, I see.

My favorite things about the update:

- The quick race. If I got $80-$120k for every random lap of the Nürburgring I did by myself in free run, I'd have all the stupid overpriced legends cars by now.

- The weekly challenge 5 events thing. This will get me to actually sit down with the game for a few hours per week, shame they didn't do this sooner.

What a great update, really brought life back into the game for me. I was at a point where I was so bored with it that I was doing the occasional time trial, waiting for a week for the next one. Now I already did several races, I got gold on the first 20 master license tests and I honestly can't wait to play again. Fantastic

This is a great update for those who don't want to play Multiplayer. Sophy provides a great challenge on the quick race option. Plus the challenges. I finally have a reason to try every car that I've gotten and see how I measure with an AI that makes sense.

That was always one of my biggest gripes about GT in general. So many cars, so few events that work for them - or you spend a ton of time perusing the events to find one that will be fun and hopefully pay a buck.

I didn't get time to play with that directory feature - does it by chance highlight the races your current vehicle is eligible for? That would be great.

Anyhow the quick race function at 400% gets you most of the way there - the competition seems decent and sensible like you say. The races were easy but I think I have the overall game difficulty at the medium setting, not sure what difference that might make for quick race as you choose a difficulty when you enter.

I think the updated directory shows your progress per track and the races you have yet to complete. But the quick race option can be joined with whatever car you have you're "sitting" on. I believe you can do the quick race, switch car at the event, then select the difficulty level. Sort of like Time Trial.

I think Im also at medium difficulty. But if it wasn't because of some, um, questionable racing lines I took, I was only able to beat Sophy literally at the last turn while on Trial Mountain Circuit A. Even then, it was about to pass me right by the end. Im amazed at how well it defends without trying to ram you out of the way.

One more thing I'm not super clear on - I think Sophy is only available for PS5 users? Reading different articles I'm not sure.

I don't recall the quick race screen/icon saying anything about Sophy for the few I did, and I did tracks that were Sophy compatible. The AI seemed pretty GT-like in all the races I did, braking hard mid way through the turn or on the exit, having no situational awareness, bumping into the back half of me in tight quarters etc.

Yes, Sophy is only available for the PS5.

I'm going to drink this Hitachino Nest white ale and two Sappporos before checking out this update. Gonna be fun, haven't had a drink in over 1.5 years, and had one yesterday, and will have these three. LOL
