JRSC oil use

I've got a relatively new JRSC (C30) with the HBP. I installed about 1000 miles ago. Install went great, fluid levels were correct.

About 500 miles in I checked the fluid and noticed I was at the bottom of the dipstick. I added until it was mid-range.

Just now I checked it again and my reservoir was again at the bottom of the dipstick. Both times I made sure the car was running and warm when checking fluid levels.

Is this a sign of a more serious problem? I took off the hot side piping and did not notice any oil residue on the inside. I also cannot visually see any leaks, but I can't really see the oil cooler either. (doubt that's the issue..but just FYI)

You have to check it with someone revving the car to about 2500-3000rpm. As the revs increase, the reservoir fills up more. That is why if you overfill it, it seeps out the top(even if it doesn't look full).

Rotrex. But... I must confess I had misread my manual. I thought you were just supposed to have the car nice and hot when you checked it.

I went back and checked it by the method described exactly in the install manual and my oil level is fine. (actually it's slightly over filled, but nothing has leaked out).

Lesson learned.
