Today is a sad day

Well guys, it is time for me to move on from my beloved BRZ. My family is expanding and I no longer have the luxury of keeping my sports car.

With that being said I will be selling off my latest phantom supercharger.

What I have:

-Phantom v3 4500kw kit with Partial throttle boost
-OFT
-3 x Odyssey PC680
-Procede Electronic boost control

Ideally I would like to find someone local as shipping the batteries really isn't a option.

I'll buy it without the batteries? I don't need the OFT as I already have one as well

Sad to hear it indeed. I'm sure your kit will find a new home quickly. Thanks for all your work as I know you've helped many people enjoy their cars to the fullest.

Thought I posted this yesterday but I guess it didn't go through..

My ESC stopped working a few days ago. Short version: looked at the wiring and found this (see pics). The blue and black wires leading to the ESC were singed together.

Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas as to the root cause? And what is the remedy? Can I just clean the connector ends with a file and reconnect? or Is the esc toast? How do i test if the unit is OK?

Much appreciate any ideas.. Life without boost just isn't the same

you posted it in the owners thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=66862&page=83

you have replies on that page.

If they were "singed together" I have to stand by my oppinion that they were vibrating or rubbing against eachother untill they wore through the insulation, causing them to arch. If it was corrosion as Ultramaroon suggested, the red wire should show some signs of contamination as it right next to the other two, and so should be exposed to the same conditions.

The system should not be damaged, so you can try to wirebrush those contacts, and put some new heatshrink insulation on them, but it looks like the plating is gone, so it may not be a very tight fit. You can replace those connectors, I have seen them on Amazon but cant remember the source, I'll try to see if mine has any markings, or Email Rob and he may help with that.

I have not heard of this happening before, but If i am right, it could be solved with wire spacers, something home made like this [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fll_OPtYsJE"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fll_OPtYsJE[/ame]

or what I did was to slip that plastic wire loom over the connectors which keeps them tight together, and wrap it with some electrical tape

This looks like a similar type of connector if you want to change it: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...llet+connector

I've had this happen a couple years ago. It happened when the cable's were too tight, i had a hard shift and the engine moving caused the wires to disconnect and arc. Mine wasnt nearly as bad as your's but we were able to clean them.

Also if they do rub together for long enough the same thing can happen.

sounds like a spacer might be a good way to go just for safety. It sounds like it would be a better design choice to replace the 3 bullet connectors with one single indexed plug, but would probably lead to a price increase.

http://www.andersonpower.com/us/en/p...pole/pp75.aspx

something like this might work, they have multiple colors, look like they lock togeather, and are genderless so can be used on the motor and controller side independently.

Had the same issue some time ago, figured loose connectors was the issue.
Cleaned connectors and added a small hard plastic cylinder to the centre of the male connector to keep it expanded. No issues since.

Will be doing the cable tie separator just incase.

Won't be the same without you brother. Good luck with the family.

Fenton, you should hang on to the system and install it on your suv or minivan!
Congrats on your growing family!

Dead Starter Battery Woes

Woke up to a dead battery this morning (again). My starter battery (PC680 FMJ) is less than a year old, so I'd rather try to trickle charge or maybe jump it than order another one. Only thing is, I'm not sure where to hook up the leads/cables. It doesn't quite make sense to me that I'd hook up cables to the main array terminals given that the dump batteries are in there. I've attached a picture of my battery array and labelled "main positive", "main negative" and "starter negative" (for the starter battery's negative terminal). So where do I hook up leads/cables to either trickle charge or jump? Thanks!
