Update: I am going through warranty with buddy club, however, PayPal went through every conversation, picture, Ect and has decided that Hunter did in fact claim a product to be "near mint, and in perfect working order.. there are zero flaws and the lights had only been used for a few days" but was not the case and that he had made a fraudulent claim in order to take advantage of a buyer.

Thankfully buddy club is working with me on the issue and I will be able to get new lights, however, Hunter is still a piece of shit who is trying to come up off of people.

They offered a full refund through buyer protecrion, however I have let them know today that I was able to go through warranty to get new tails and am cancelling the case.

I gotta say, after reading this nonsense, I'm pretty sure it's flat486 I'll never do business with. Here's why:

The kid offered to refund the money if you sent the tails back to him. You posted texts showing that. There's nothing unreasonable about asking for merchandise to be returned before issuing a refund. If you demanded a refund first before returning the merchandise, that's a huge red flag that you might be trying to perpetuate a scam.

You say you were afraid he wouldn't refund your money. But that's nonsense, because you used PayPal. All you would have to do is file a dispute and show them that you returned defective merchandise and didn't get your refund. PayPal would then refund your money under the buyer protection program. You can't say you didn't know about this, because you actually did file a claim even though you didn't send them back. You knew you had insurance against the very risk you used as an excuse not to send them back, which is red flag #2 that you might be trying to perpetuate a scam.

So the way I see it, your own evidence shows that the kid tried to make it right, but you refused to cooperate. The question then becomes: Why? Why not just send them back and get a refund? The only answer I can see is that you were trying to keep the tails, get them replaced under warranty and bully this kid into paying you some money back.

To me, that sounds more like you're trying to take advantage of him than the other way around. Don't get me wrong. I think you had a legitimate complaint about the condition of the lights. But it really does look like you're using that complaint and the threats of legal action and reputation smearing to extort money from this kid. Asking to be made whole (which the kid offered to do) is one thing, but you have gone beyond that.

Even if your integrity were not in question, I think this thread would still serve as an excellent warning not to do business with you, if for no other reason that you appear to be a high-maintenance buyer and drama queen. Who needs the headache of your BS?

I think at this point you really ought to let this rest, because every time you post makes you look worse.

Thanks extrashaky for your input. Its unfortunate you came to that conclusion because everyone else I've done business with had either left happy with product or I've left happy. But to each their own
