Got my STI Gurney Flap installed and very happy with it (will do STI sticker later), posting pic in case anyone wanted to see what it looks on red:

I like how it gives the BRZ spoiler additional contrast.

Question: how's its finish? Like black paint or rather like the lower parts of the rear fender i.e. unpainted?
I need to know whether to call the paintshop

I don't think it's finished at all. Just black plastic. I wouldn't paint it, it's pretty flexible so the paint would probably crack and flake off.

I see. Guess that means foil wont work either

Yeah once I had it on and confirmed that I really liked it, I drilled and attached it permanently.

Yeah it is just black flexible plastic, so paint probably would not hold up well unless you use some type of flexible paint.

You can't really see it from the inside. At least I can't.

I was just curious, because I know back when I had my Evo, I drove a friends SE that had a gurney flap and it was just enough to annoy me. Although that was on an elevated wing...

If anything, i think it'd help.
Had a bigger spoiler on my old car that helped me see where it actually ended.
No such luck in my brz

Hmm, in Japanparts.com it is only $80 for the gurney flap, is it worth it?

Guess you get what you pay for: it's not much, kinda like a piece of plastic. Just like the trd sound changer is just a bunch of tubes.
Nonetheless, such little things may be exactly what one may need in order to make a car perfect.
Or anything, for that matter

Only if you buy it with something else. They will kill you on shipping. I ordered mine with JDM underpanels and basically got it shipped for free.

I really think it finished the rear end of the car nicely. It makes the OEM spoiler worth having imo.
