Thank you. That picture was taken at stock ride height. The tires are slightly taller then stock, but I verified the speedo via GPS up to 80 and its correct. From 80-100, its about 1mph off. Above that, who cares

@wheeldude's Rota RT5's, or Enkei Kojin's. Check em out. You'll probably have to get them powdercoated, or just plastidip them white and put a clear coat over that.

Ok, ok, ok... I have seen this comment many, many times on this forum when referencing new (usually larger in diameter) tires and/or rims. I have never seen any data or measurements to support the above quote, especially (if not specifically) when a person +1 or +2's the car without dropping the suspension.

Granted, the entire vehicle's clearance is increased by such changes, but the wheel gap is not (especially since owners are putting larger diameter tires/wheels on their cars.

For properly sized tires on a given rim, a +1 will fill up the wheel arch more while 'lifting' the car approx. 1/2inch for every +1 size up.

Is the quote above claiming a larger wheel arch gap when the OP has put in a larger diameter tire/rim combo. If the combo isn't larger in diameter, then I get it.

A properly sized tire on +1 sizing will maintain the stock diameter so it fills the well exactly the same as stock.

Increasing the diameter by an inch would throw the speedo and gearing off by quite a bit.

I don't think its so much as making the stock wheel gap larger but, by swapping to aftermarket wheels, more attention is placed on the wheels, making the stock wheel gap more apparent.

I approve of this thread! Great idea! I'm another one that will probably leave my car stock height. I've driven lowered cars my whole life! I'm old now (not really that old), and I LOVE that I can take this car anywhere and not have to worry about bumps or dips!

Thanks for starting this thread OP!!
