Tow Hook/Front Plate Combo?

Forgive me if this is hiding somewhere. I'm curious if there's such a thing as a tow hook that can double as a front plate relocator. I checked a few vendor's websites, and have found threads like this: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23353, but so far i haven't found much more.

I have a front plate ticket and need to mount it, and I have been relying on only the stock rear tow hook for track days and want a second anyway. Is there such thing as something you can trust to do both without making two purchases and frequently mounting and dismounting crap?

Thanks!

I got Raceseng for this reason, it takes about 30 seconds to swap out at the track once you've set it up properly the first time.

UPM: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1614524
Tug View: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53205

This looks promising. I see your mentioning switching between a go pro and the plate mount... does that mean that your switching between raceseng tug view tow hook and the plate mount? How does that work?? And do they sell these attachments separately from the threaded bar portion?

Thank you!

Ok I read your thread better: "You can swap this out with the UPM (Universal Plate Mount), and only swap the outer portions to/from the track or whenever the need to shoot video footage arises. This was the main reason for my purchase of this."

I just haven't found a vendor that doesn't just sell them as two completely separate kits requiring I pay more and have more hardware laying around...

The tow hook with gopro mount is extremely expensive, lol. it's going to be over $300 for both the tow hook and plate mount.

I don't even care about the go pro mount, mine works fine inside or mounted elsewhere. Just want the hook and plate mount and be able to alternate on the fly... thought there would be something for this...

Edit: I thought I found just the hook replacement on google, but it costs the same as the whole kit! Wtf

It takes me about 30 seconds to take off the front plate and put on my tow hook at the track.

Did you have to buy the whole standalone tow hook assembly and separate plate mount kit, leaving you with two of those threaded bars? Did you spend under $300 to accomplish this?

Sent a PM to @Raceseng as well

I bought:

1x Tug View $195
http://www.raceseng.com/tug-view-fro...ubaru-brz-2013

1x Tug Plate (formerly UPM) $115
http://www.raceseng.com/tug-plate

I'm sure if you buy both, you can get it for under $300 with some magical coupon code... I've spent over $1k with Raceseng and won't hesitate to do it again.

I'm switching my Perrin plate mount to that Raceseng one. The ball joint will allow you to tilt the plate toward the ground a little - LIDAR aimed at the plate will give a much poorer return signal and might buy you enough time to react to the chirp from a detector. Between that and blacked-out headlights the BRZ presents a very poor target for LIDAR.

New question, when you mount a go pro out front like that, is all you pick up just a bunch of wind, or does the video without those foam covers come out with some actual car sound?

You can play around with noise. Here's footage with the complete rear cover:
