I don't think BRZ is good for Houston roads, something hit my tire last Thursday and just one tire replacement costed me $275 - total I spent so far is $500 including towing. Tire was on special order.

Here is the picture of damage to the tire.

I had a blowout on 45 by the beltway. They’re really not the best. I don’t even think the toll roads are that great except maybe like 99 and Hardy. Not to mention there’s always debris ready to tear your car up

Bummer, hate that for you.

No spare?

I had this happen a couple of years ago. Managed to catch a six inch bolt stuck up in a railroad crossing. Took less than five minutes to throw the spare on, drove it to the tire shop.

This happened at 8:00 pm on 290 and I was on far left lane and there was no room in the shoulder. I think $125 to tow using a flat bed wasn't that bad and I believe other tow truckers charge $175.

I have 14,000 miles and I just changed one tire, Discount Tires recommended to change all tires since the tires are only 20,000 miles warranty. What should I do?

Agh! That makes sense.

Well, if it were me I'd definitely get different tires next time. 20,000 mile treads on this car don't make any sense unless you are tracking it regularly, and even then I'd change tires for the track. I've gotten 60K out of the two sets of tires that have been on mine (the original OEM tires and the replacements).

If they really are 20K tires, and the tread is that close to minimums to reflect it, I'd change all of them, but that's just me. Others might ride it out, but there is enough differential in tread depth at this point (assuming the tires are shot at 20K) I'd feel better swapping them out.

Stop going to Discount tire....

Find a true independent shop.

Additionally: Move away from Houston, as the air quality is terrible there, weather as well....LOL.

except for this year, the austrailians have a festival for it:

but i do my tires 4 at a time.

if you think texas roads, where you don't have frost heave are bad, i'd like to welcome you to the northern states.

Ugh.

Yeah, the roads here in DFW aren't much better than in Houston.

I want a Supra, but I need a used Wrangler. Lol.

A guy on FB did a group buy on the enthusiasts page. He's out of Germany and I'm not sure when he's doing another production run. Here's his profile if you want to send him a message
