Nice to see at least a semblance of credibility out of another rumor article, CEO's and executives make comments all the time that don't follow through. Where's the IDX to steal all of Toyobaru's sales because it's just a mid-life crisis car? Mazda's current CEO condemned the rotary yet it's coming back in a hybrid package that's already been shown to journalists? How much weight did the new Mustang lose again?

Nice to see some support from Subaru side even if it's manufactured, let the comedy roll in, I'll be disappointed if it's any less than 5 pages when it drops off the front page.

I like how OP says "right from horses mouth"

That folks is a FAIL

Sorry from horses mouth means following:

Direct from Toyota or Subaru, meaning from Subaru or Toyota news page not some bullshit rumour mill site like auto world, etc etc...

Someday when it's real if ever is it will be from one of the manufacturers and on (THEIR) page period not someone else's first.

I'll be keeping my 2014 FR-S for at least 9 years when I hit 60K miles, so I will be in the market around 2023.

Probably a Gen 3 FR-S with overboard tech and a hybrid fusion turbo. Or the next Gen Supra I have been waiting for since 1998.

So the 86 platform has not even been out for close to 5 years, in fact we have just hit 2 years, yet there is already talk and confirmation of a 2nd gen? Does that seem a little odd to anyone else? Am I wrong to say that most generations of cars happen every 5 years and typically at year 4 is the previous generation actually debuted?

I am certain that the President of FHI would be much more articulate than, "If I were to be told that, I'd pass out," Yoshinaga said. "It's not going to be just one generation."

Click-bait INDEED.

We are on the third model year. 2013, 2014, 2015 models. Plus the 2013 model was a longer year.

Second generation doesn't mean all new car.

Probably just bumpers, interior, engine upgrades.

Technically then aren't we on the fourth model year? because there was 2012 models as well. So 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 (coming up)

No there was no 2012 model. The 2013 Model came out in 2012.

I think these are the release dates:

-2013 Model: Spring 2012 to Fall 2013
-2014 Model: Fall 2013 to Summer 2014
-2015 Model: Summer 2014 to ?

No 2012 model in America due to our stupid system, only '13s. There are 2012 models in other countries but they all went on sale roughly the same time, spring 2012.

The car has been out for just over 2 years and the third model year has hit the dealership lots in America, I bet in other countries there were no changes between their '12 & '13.
