It's weird it's like every charger is a little different in performance my buddy's was making 8.5 psi and his failed mine fAiled at 20k kilometres but I was able to fix it. And now it's working great fingers crossed lol I will be going to a 90mm pulley and I will see how that goes...

How many cases total are their of failures? on the S2000 side their is mine, and my friends that i know of.

Did anything come of the upgraded piece?

Not sure if any of you guys had this problem, but the provided BOV did not work with my car. When i came off throttle i would get a constant steam train flutter, i had this issue for 6 months until i upgraded the bov to a Tial, not sure if any of you guys had similar? and not sure if this contributed to the chargers demise. Im just worried that this will happen again with another charger.

It lasted 14 months, Roughly 5.5k miles.
I was basically forced into buying a second kit at half price or i could have waited 10 weeks for a supercharger to be inspected and repaired under warranty (not very convenient). I should have bought a turbo kit at this point.

At least the customer service was there. Now I have to communicate with someone in japan directly. they will probably send me through the same process. its just a shame. i spent a lot of money through HKS and it has been rough time chasing my ass only to find out the supercharger is failing again. I will agree the performance is there for sure when working properly... but that performance needs reliability which this kit lacks completely.

*Update* I located the issue after going back over everything. a small sliver was in the recirculating valve rubber nipple. i replaced the recirc valve with one from the previous kit. Vacuum is back to -23 at idle and the car runs fine again.

THANK GOD!

basically, boost differ from altitude & IAT even with same kit.

but in HKS v2 kit, major factor is restrictor inlet diameter.

Without restrictor ( 48mm ID of intake Pipe ) it makes 13~15psi max boost

https://datazap.me/u/yobiwan/sc-dw45...zoom=1959-2146

With 43.5mm it makes 11.x psi max but flat boost.

https://datazap.me/u/yobiwan/new-435...zoom=6094-6422

both log from same altitude.

Stock ID of restrictor was 39mm and it makes about 8~9 PSI max@6000 and decreased to 7~8psi 7400.

Hey everybody, it's been a while but I just received a new 7040L. As much as I'd love to pop it in and test it now I am going to wait until spring, maybe a week before the car goes back on the road again. This way the unit won't run for the first time in cold temps where there is additional stress internally.
I will be using the summer (high temp) traction fluid so again it's best to install when in the correct temp range.
I hope everyone has been enjoying their cars.
Mine will end up being a classic, I am quite sure after 5 1/2 years ownership and only 55,000kms (35000 miles).

Kyle, what's up with yours? Anything I can help with, pm me if so. And merry Xmas!

I just wanted to add I got the V3 kit put on feb. 2016. About June of this year I started to notice a decline in power. After I stopped driving it in Aug. and got another car, the next time I drove it, I realized the supercharger wasn't doing anything and it was slower then stock. The place that installed it blamed me not changing the supercharger oil, even though HKS says in the instructions it does not have to be changed. So now I have a $4000 paperweight......

I should have went turbo, or nothing at all.

Drop a picture here. The mounting bracket and pipe diameters are the key visual difference.
