I'm not an expert, but that sounds like a lot of stretch...

Also, since you have already ordered the wheels, surely you have to run a staggered tyre...

Yes, staggered tires. One of well known ways to screw up handling and pay more for tires due lost ability to rotate tires. Go for that, it perfectly makes sense!

Going to be ordering some new tires really soon. Now my question is should I run a staggered or square setup. My front wheel is 8.5 and I will be running a 215 on it. My rear is a 9 and im in debate if I want to run the 215 on it or a 225. I understand having a staggered setup will introduce more understeer, this is just my DD and I some sprinted driving around the mountains near me. Dont really plan on doing autox, maybe 4 times max this year, on that note im not concerned about my times, just more about having fun.

I have everything from the back of the front seats to the trunk gutted. I believe this moved some the weight balance more towards the front of the car so im thinking having the staggered wheels/tires will put some weight back to the rear.
Go square. 17x8 or 17x9. Make sure the tread width of your tires are close to the wheel width to maximize usage/grip.

Added wheel (and tire) weight is never a good idea. FYI: the stock combined wheel & tire weight is either 40lbs or 43lbs depending if you have the OEM summer or winter tires.

Well thats why I was questioning about going staggered. Mainly to fill that extra half inch of wheel in the rear.

Yeah because running staggered has more of a effect on handling than toe or camber, get off your high horse.

You can fill it out with the right offset & width all around. Check out the Mach V Awesome wheels for reference, or some Enkei RPF1 fitments.

WolfsGang: indeed "i'm on my high horse", and both Subaru & Toyota engineers and guys from RCE/CSG are certainly wrong. After all, they made such grave error of not filling arches, concentrating on stupid handling no-one cares about. Staggered is cooler and you know better. +If one invests much more in suspension parts, there is chance to fix/reduce changes induced by choosing staggered tires = more vendor stickers can be put on car. Win-win?

I'm running work meister wheels (3 piece face welded to a single barrel) with a offset of +15 (35 from wheels and 20 from the adapters.) don't feel that it's necessary to go above 225 on a somewhat stock engine as the only power mods I have are intake and headers. Anything over I believe is just over kill and unneeded weight.

I really have no idea what the hell your typing. To me it just seems your getting salty because I mentioned staggered setup. There are pro's and cons to running a staggered setup as there are pros and cons to running stretched tires, and no I don't mean those over the top stretches like a 205 on a 10" wheel.

Hey Darren

I'm planning to get a new set of enkei Raijin 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear both +45 offset.

Will this setup fits only with Eibach Pro Kit lowering spring?

I need last minute opinions!

I'm about to pull the trigger on wheels FINALLY. I didn't want to start a new thread so here is really what my goals are...

Staying as close to stock FEEL as possible with slightly enhanced looks. I've heard the wider you go with wheels the more things change and I want none of that. Basically I just want a little more grip than stock.

So I've narrowed it down to these 3 options:

XXR 530
17X7+35
Hankook Ventus V12 EVO 2
215/45/17
37.4lb

XXR530
17X8.25+35
Hankook Ventus V12 EVO 2
225/45/17
41.55 lbs.

XXR530
17X8.25+25
Hankook Ventus V12 EVO 2
225/45/17
42.05 lbs

^^I've seen one setup on here with the 17x8+25 offset and it sat extremeeely flush(below pic)...however this would be at the cost of a couple of pounds over stock, and with added width and stickyness I don't want to bog the car down...I want to feel light but accurate. Also I'm quite scared to run 25 offset, out of all of the information I've siphoned on the forums I haven't really been able to conclude what the long term effects of the low offset would be on the suspension...not too worried about wheel bearings.

So Should I stick to stock size and get lighter and stickier?

Pick the setup that'll make you smile every time you look at your car.

Going by your three choices, I would pick the first option. Yet that's my preference, not yours.

That's what I'm leaning towards also. Thanks for the feedback!

Exclamation HELP. Raijins 18x8.5/18x9.5

Would someone please tell me for certain whether a brz lowered with Eibach Pro kit,(1") Could fit Enkei Raijins 18x8.5/18x9.5,, wrapped in Hankook v12's 235/40's and 265/35's ? Any insight would be helpful, thank you for your wisdom haha.
