Now just gota figure out tuning. since I'm not in AZ that poses a huge prob.
People have had good luck with E-tuning and it will at least get you started. If you are dead set on having a shop tune it then TopSpeed here in Atlanta is maybe 3-4 hours as long as you are near the border. They have tuned a bunch of turbo cars at this point and the main tuner has a 500whp turbo BRZ now as well.

I once drove from Milwaukee to Salt Lake City to have a car tuned, and babied it staying out of boost the whole way. It's painful, but easily doable when most of the miles are just cruising on the highway anyways. Injectors are the one thing you can't change and drive with untuned, but I just swapped them at the shop when I got there.

JDL / FBM / MAP with gtx28 upgrade if you want quality, and response. ~300whp or so.

PTuning is decent quality but more setup for gt30 frame plus. Highway pullers apply within. 400whp and beyond.

Greddy / SPD are journal bearing. Cool if you're still living in 1996. Pass.

AVO if you're the sort of person that would buy bc coilovers, rota wheels. Journal bearing copied turbo. Pass.

fa20club if you're not put off by the millions of bad feedback. Pass.

Just a slight skew of opinion. I think PTuning's quality and attention to detail is Excellent, not just decent. And it's not more setup for Highway pullers. It's optimized for track bruising. They focus on "trackability" first then everything else.

Rota has been getting knocked off for a while now... go figure. Then again I never understood why people think Rotas are junk. They've been making OEM wheels for Nissan, Mercedes, VAG etc for years. People equate price to quality when it comes to wheels more than anything else, when in reality it has more to do with marketing and conspicuous consumption.

I like this guy. I would throw the P&L kit and their Precision turbos in there somewhere as well though.

Drive down to FL and see @jamesm . A drive is always worth it to get a good tune.

I keep hearing this, but I don't think I have ever seen a Nissan, Mercedes, or VAG press release mentioning this. Quality has to do with design, materials, and the processes used to build the wheel.

They've been manufacturing OEM wheels for all of those brands (and a few more) since the late '70s. OEMs normally don't enumerate who white-labels their stuff in press releases . You're correct about where quality comes from... but too many people think that there is a 1:1 correlation between quality and price. This just isn't the case, and has more to do with conspicuous consumption than anything else. People buy wheels like they buy jeans and handbags, for the most part.
