@LED86 good catch I know the lamps here are called "Valenti style" and agree that Valenti should not be mentioned at all as they do not make these particular lamps.
I intended to say that I thought I had seen a thread with actual US market compliant Valentis

Yeah think it was changed earlier on but then I saw another thread just blatantly calling them valenti. I wish they would be branded as what they really are as valenti are pissed their name is used on these. It has such a ripple effect through the community thinking it's something that it's not and think the ones making the money is valenti. I speak to them quite often and really sympathize for their situation.

Lol how tf can they just get away with false name-branding? Is it because Valenti are based in Europe or something, or is this just a big case of broken telephone?

Tbh I bought mine not really caring what brand they were. I just thought they looked nice and had good quality.

Valenti is a Japanese brand.

And same. I just loved the way they looked (no white tube) and the quality seem to be fine. Haven't had the chance to install em yet but touching it, it feels gooooooooood.

Hey man, this edition looks awesome.
I'm confused about the tail lights edition for a long time. Mine is hyper blue too.
Do you have some installed photos for share?

They come with some sort of paperwork that they are DOT approved.? I'm getting the black ones, knowing that its gonna be a gamble

Nothing against @FT-86SpeedFactory as they don't make the parts, and are a reputable vendor, but the manufacturer.
You are also correct in saying most mods are illegal, but someone buying these based on the claim of compliance may be in for a shock somewhere down the line. Sure, you may never have an issue with enforcement, but if they have a desire to pull you over, this is grounds to do so.
Another concern is moving from province to province here in Canada, or buying a vehicle. Most provinces require the vehicle to undergo a safety inspection, where things like lighting, exhaust and such are checked. If not compliant, you fail, meaning no driving the vehicle until corrected. This can get costly, so some peeps make sure the stuff they change is legal.
So, it's definitely not a new issue, it only got brought up because the claim of legitamacy had been made, but they are not compliant. As always, there are ways around it- get clear or red lens lamps, then add a reflector to the side of the vehicle, this satisfies the FMVSS108 requirement provided the red light can be seen from the side of the car

You will have less of an issue with law enforcement and more of a concern if someone rear ends you and the insurance claim adjuster notices your non dot compliant taillights and deem that was the cause of the accident putting you at fault. Generally cops are not driving around looking for illegal taillights.

Anyone have a picture of a firestorm FRS with the black and gold edition? I just ordered a pair and I'm stating to think just the black edition would have looked better

Can the light bar be modded, so that it lights up when you brake and have parking lights off, and also stay on when parking lights are on? Thinking of getting the smoked black gold ones and with this it'll be easier for people to see you brake in the daytime.

always wondered now what if one of the SMD's die in the housing..it will look like crap and you can't just replace them like you would a bulb...so what happens then? you send it back and they solder a new working SMD or are you SOL?
