Can anyone tell what tires these are? Can't really see clearly with work computer. From my guess it looks like a 285/35ZR19

Hankook Ventus V12 Evo. Not sure why they went for those instead of the R-S3.

Probably because they wanted a tire that was less grippy than the R-S3 since this car was made for drift competition. It would be a shame to destroy so many sets of R-S3s when they're not even properly put to use.

you don't need a lot of gears when you're building a car to function within a specific speed/power band range
