Here's a pretty good guide I came across:

https://howtune.com/articles/95-repl...n-a-scion-fr-s

The little tray trim piece (by the USB/AUX) might be a pain...I broke a tab taking it out, but it went back in okay

Thanks! I had seen that one too a while back but forgot about it. I think there's a post in this thread somewhere about the push start button. Will use all three and try to install mine tomorrow.

What's the trick to removing those small plastic pieces under the knee pads? Seriously having a problem.pulling them.off in my '15 frs. No amt of force is getting them off or away from.the underneath of the pads.

Edit: They require a bit more force than "just pull" But yeah, break away from center console 1st than pull from closest to seat towards front of car.

For me, I find it easier to pull out the front most part first. And by ‘just pull’, I think that just means no tools, not ‘be gentle and pull.’ Lol. It’s more of a quick yank when I do mine. Same as the radio surround trim, grab firmly and yank to get it out of its clips. My friends who see me do it are always like ‘whoa, not too rough, huh.’

Yeah, figured it out. Broke the last tab on the drivers side. I'm used to being rather forceful and gentle, but ... this required a bit more force than many other cars I've worked on. Not a bad thing, keeps the rattles to a minimum.

To remove the panel below the kneepad with minimal distortion and chance of damage:

There are three "locators" along the top of that panel on the back, plus a clip at the end furthest from the engine end. The clip is about half-way up. ALSO, at the top of the panel at the engine end, about 20mm back towards the rear of the car, there is a finger hole.
You can slip fingers up behind the panel then starting from the engine end, pull towards the door to release the first "locator". Then, stick a finger in the finger hole and pull towards the door to release the next locator, then the next one.

Then, while pressing the console close to where the clip is, fingers under the panel close to the clip, pull the panel straight towards the door.
