VIN was in one of the columns and became hidden for some reason. I'm updating the sheet and moving the VIN column elsewhere.

-do a thorough inspection of the engine bay, look for: -loose or missing bolts -loose or disconnected grounding cables -unsecured harnesses -evidense of oil leaks -check your hood bolts(some shops will remove your hood to ease yhe engine removel) -check that the gaps around your hood are even in both sides -start the car at the dealership amd let it run for a few minutes while you continue to inspect the engine bay. -test the AC, make sure that both sides are cooling quickly, (if refrigerant pressure is low as a result of lines being disconnected to remove the engine, the passenger side will cool while the driver side stays hot) If you find any of these, dont acept the car until they fix it,. If you drove away and find these later, bring it back, their work has a 1yr warranty. If i think of more I'll make a separate post. |

It may be a good idea if the registry thread had the title edited so the word "registry" is first. Currently both the threads start with the same words so the abbreviated titles in the index are the same. Anybody that doesn't check the full title after clicking into the tread can very easily think they are in the wrong one. The way it is set up creates confusion.

Recall
Vehicle Mileage:56754
Vehicle Make: Scion2013 Mileage After Recall Performed: @900 Symptom(s): Drove to work no issue, started car to drive home and clicking sound drivers side wheel level, drove straight to dealer, 5 miles, never exceeded 2500 rpm Failure: Brass in oil pan, diagnosed as rod bearing failure State:AR Is Dealership Offering Repair: Dealer says this is a Toyota problem, referred to corporate, awaiting word. Car is two owner, previous owner put 24k miles on it. I have had it for two years. Oil change every 5k with Mobile one and Wix filter. Just put the second set of tires on it. Other than a few sprints to get on the freeway not abused. Dealer said that they know they have a problem with the engine. I have 6 months left to pay on a very pretty brick. |

Vehicle Mileage: 324xx
Vehicle Make: FRS Mileage After Recall Performed: 1142 (initial cel) Symptom(s): P000D (32002mi) & P000B (32457mi) Failure: cel State: CA Is Dealership Offering Repair: yes Unsure whether the recall is the root cause of my car acting up, but it was fine for the 4 years I've had it before the recall... CEL is intermittent (turns on/off randomly) so it is hard to "just get fixed" since the dealership needs the light to be on to diagnose. My dealership attempted to fix P000D by swapping the L+R cam actuators to the opposite side a few weeks ago. As a result, I now have P000D & P000B as of 4/10.

Many instances of cam actuators getting damaged from sealant and crap getting into the oil passages after the recall. It's definitely recall related.

Recall Repair Failure
Vehicle Mileage:105,997
Vehicle Make: 2013 Scion FR-S Mileage After Recall Performed: 108,361 Symptom(s): Exactly two months after the recall repair, (which took almost 3 weeks) I was driving on the highway and noticed my car started shaking and wobbling. I also heard a loud knocking noise while the check engine light turned on and began flashing. The car also slowed down so I knew I had to pull over immediately. Once I pulled over, the car completely shut off and whenever I tried to turn it back on, it would turn off within seconds. Luckily, I pulled over just in time to avoid ongoing traffic. I got it towed about 20 miles back home and also lost an entire day of work. Since my dad is a mechanic, he instantly knew something went wrong during the recall repair. The car was previously owned by a family member who had no problems prior to the recall repair. Failure: At first, my advisor said it had to do with the lubrication on the sides of the engine which caused the engine to give out. After a "second opinion" they said it was internal failure of the engine which also has nothing to do with the recall repair regarding the replacement of the engine valve springs. State: California Is Dealership Offering Repair: They are not offering me a repair and are trying to charge me $11,000 for a new engine. They said I could also trade it in but I just can't accept the fact that they messed up my car after it was perfectly fine for almost 5 years of ownership within the family. My dad also thinks they might be afraid of trying to fix it again, and found it easier to try and charge me for a brand new engine instead. Pretty soon, I am going to be returning my rental and towing back my FR-S while I get things figured out with corporate. Please be careful if you've had the recall repair. I heard the Subaru model has also had problems but Toyota has had more issues. It's also important to note that my car was one of the three that the dealer has dealt with post recall repair. According to the director, the other two FR-S' had different mechanical issues that weren't connected to the recall repair either. Sounds like they are trying everything in their power not to be held responsible. I also wanted to add that in case you have to pull over on the side of the freeway/road please do not stay in your car. The highway patrol told me that you could get hit by incoming cars. |

Dropped car off to get diagnosed 4/17. Solution: replace affected cam actuators, but parts are currently on back order. (ETA 1-2 weeks) Dealership gave the car back 4/19, claimed that car was okay to drive. Will be called when parts come in.
