I still blow a shift from time to time with nearly 60k miles on this car, 99% driven by me. No shame in it, hell I stalled it pulling into my driveway sometime in the past week, almost forgot it had happened.

But after driving cars for 16 years now i can drive both just fine.
It's just so odd coming from AT. You need to learn to think quite differently. Like sometimes you'll be on a street and driving AT everything's great, but in a MT you realize "wait, this is actually a slight uphill?" because you stop and then to go into first you need to do a teeny bit more to get it going. Or you're on a slight uphill at a light but in an AT you wouldn't notice, so once you're in a MT and you start falling back a bit (because of being in neutral) you need to know how to handle it. Obviously once you're used to it it's nothing, but coming from AT you basically add at least an additional step for that kind of thing.

Different situations end up needing to be handled slightly differently. It's not a big deal after you've learned but while learning it can be a pain, or at least it was for me.

lol I hear ya. It's like at some point I just went "ehhh that's good enough" and stopped trying to improve. Once in a while I get it right and the shifts are butter smooth, other times not so much. But then time goes by and I forget what I was doing right to get those shifts and fall into that same pattern. I also stall at the most unexpected times cause I stopped paying attention.

Was hard for me too to drive AT (w/o manual shift) after MT all life long. Simply didn't felt being in control. Clutch-heavy left foot braked too abruptly (which causes problem now too, when i'm learning left-foot braking for track use), no used-to engine braking to simplify keeping intervals in traffic, tranny unexpectedly down-shifting (or not) resulting in acceleration changes at unexpected times when floored. I'm sure, after some longer getting used to, i'd adjust my die-hard habits, learn left foot braking be less heavy, get in habits how accel work quickness correlates to down-shifts, but after that brief time, loved to get out of it and then feeling enlightenment drive honest-MT again. Humans are slaves to habits.

Didn't any of you guys power shift before? I have a few times in this car and was scary and fun at the same time. Here's a sample of someone else doing it. I think if you do it a few times it will be okay. Just be wary that a really bad mis shift can grenade the important parts of the tranny.

Heck, the goal is to time everything so perfectly you don't need the clutch. When I mess it up on course, I usually end up a wee bit sideways... So that slight lift on the accelerator always happens, it's just a question of when.

It's hard to explain double clutching and rev matching through text tho haha

Double de-clutching on non-synco gears. You don't need to double de-clutch on modern cars but you need to bring the revs up to match the gear hence race drivers brake and same blip throttle to ensure that the lower gear comes in without locking or upsetting the car balance.
