Hi guys, this will be my first time track event also. Any of you have their car insured for the track day? I found this website http://www.trackdayinsurance.ca but they are kind of expensive. Minimum is $240 per day for $30,000 car market value.

been doing this since 2005 and for me it has always been one of things I just don't think about...

I want to say that if you're smart you have nothing to worry about, but I've seen very eager novices overshoot their abilities very quickly...

it's entirely a personal choice

Turn in, apex and track out points will all be marked with cones. There will also be cones to mark passing zones (if all goes to plan, these will be taller and bright green to avoid confusion). Other than cone colour, it should look very similar to the cones in the video I posted earlier in the thread.

Passing is strictly by point or signal, but details will be covered in the drivers meeting as well.

*edit* - First 25 spots are gone, price is now $180.

Total beginners need an instructor, at least for the first couple sessions. I believe they're aiming for a max of 15 requiring instruction, but I could be a bit off on the count.

For sure! My car is asphalt with red tails and bronze RPF1's (although, they'll look pretty black if I didn't wash it the day before, or have been on the track already )

Honour system, backed by listing your experience. If someone claims to be advanced with only one track day, they'll probably get adjusted. I'm sure if they notice someone is way out of place in a run group (faster, or slower) they'll make an adjustment at the track as well.

Not positive, but IIRC they did have helmets available last time. I'll find out for sure.

ok. So its ok to ask to get categorized to a lower group even if you are experienced. Any other way to pay other then pay pal?

I don't think they would argue, as long as you're not being aggressive to other drivers in the run group (not suggesting you would).

Not sure about paying other than paypal, I'll find out though!

Payment can also be made via EMT to the same email address (treasurer3....), still waiting on an answer to helmets.

I would advise against it

unless you truly plan on lowering your pace by 10-15 seconds a lap.

Instructed (beginner) group is now full, but they are taking a waiting list. Email eventreg at spda - online dot ca to get on the waiting list.

Intermediate and advanced groups still have room.
