I'm willing to bet that most of the people arguing for safe use of low grade gasoline, don't understand what octane, knock, compression ratio and pre-detonation actually are...

Luckily, I live is a big city and use 93 octane, though it bugs me if I have to put 92 in. I also seem to be able tell if the gas is a bit subpar. The engine is a bit more sluggish. I just try and fill up at the same gas station down from my house. I don't like having to run around looking for the best prices...

Diesel gets better MPG, I'm switching to that. Screw what the owner manual says.

Some newbie is liable to read that post and give it a try …. once they figure out how to get the fuel nozzle in the tank filler opening -

I'm the same way. I vote with my wallet. I like having a gas station down the street from my house, so therefore I spend money there. Plus sometimes I like coast into the driveway on fumes anyway to save the 3 minutes it would take to fill up somewhere along the way. This means I'm going there next time I leave anyway.

OK, well, I was afraid of that.

Anyway, tells us if the diesel fuel reduces/eliminates the "crickets" - ??
