Mine was backordered with a far off projected shipping date...Then I came home a week later to multiple boxes, that ended garaging the car for the winter.

You really can't go wrong with this exhaust. I have a res'd cat'd headerback and it sounds amazing. It's very mellow cruising at light throttle, but unmistakably NOT oem when you get on it. It sounds best in the 4-5k area I think, a nice balance between the strong bass note of the low RPM's and scream nearing redline.

Cold starts are a little obnoxious with the initial high idle, but quiets down nicely when warm. That's just normal behavior for the car anyway though, they're not exactly quiet when cold in stock form, louder exhaust just punctuates this.

I can't speak to res vs non-res personally, but I did run across a clip of a catless non-res headerback that sounded hollow/raspy. I think as long as you have at least a cat or a resonator it should keep the volume level reasonable and keep down any rasp.

I've not read anywhere that it is. From their site:

"The PERRIN Overpipe is made from 2.5", 304 Stainless Steel and assembled with precision TIG welding. Unlike the factory 2.118" tubing with it's sharp, crimp type bends throughout, the PERRIN Overpipe is CNC mandrel bent for smooth air flow allowing for maximum horsepower. "

I've ordered some header wrap. Guess I'll wait till the install to see how close the pipe is to components and interior panels before I decide if I wrap or not. The factory unit all heat shielded up can't be for the hell of it.

There were some other posts in another thread about the resonated being a tight fit on an AT. I'd rather not take the chances. From what I can tell, the unresonated has slightly higher tq and hp (1-2 nothing major) and has a slightly louder tone. But both are still way under the 95 db legal limit for california.

The db test that one magazine ran showed even the unresonated was still much quieter than other exhausts.

the msrp is a little high but a lot of the sellers here are letting them for for high 700s. Under 800 for the quality that you get is an incredible steal.

I can't speak yet since mine isn't here yet but I'm willing to bet a lot of these owners could've paid 1100 for it and still be happy with their purchase.

Actually they're still offering this price on a final few resonated and non-resonated catbacks. I just ordered one from them at that price and am very happy.

Since this thread is so one sided, ill be the devils advocate even though I like the Perrin system as well.

The issue of aerodynamics and the role of the stock muffler as a rear diffuser. There is proof that removing it causes significant rear lift. There is only one aftermarket company which has addressed this with an additional diffuser for their cat back kit, but with it their kit almost weighs as much as stock.

Now I would guess that the Perrin design is not as bad with creating rear lift as others because it retains the horizontal muffler in the near stock position but it is smaller and round vs. large oval and angled and taking up most of the space which I assume keeps the air traveling under it.

Comments on the Perrin design related to aero?
