I'm saying the car should come with PSS. Not because racecar or because track car. Track cars get more serious tires i.e. R-compounds.

They are excellent daily tires. Not only they are quiet/comfy, they offer amazing tractions in both dry & wet as well. (My god the wet traction is so good...) But I'm gonna try different tires next time, I guess I learned that Tires is always about compromise.

Stock size is slightly stretched to give faster turn in and response, you removed that with the 225's... It's not the tire, it's the size you selected.

Isn't that the truth... Taking the fully optioned club spec vs a Series.Blue was just stupid and the journalists know it.

Definitely agree that the car should come with better tires. Hopefully the refreshed 86/BRZ get a much needed infotainment system upgrade too, the old Starlink is pretty blah.

Speaking of Miata, the new one's got transmission issues, there's been a lot of reports of NDs blowing up their boxes at their forums.

That's the risk you take by buying the first year of a new model.

The MY13 86 had it's share of issues too.

Definitely true.

I did that with another car, and I got a bunch of bugs on the car's multimedia interface, hence I'll be waiting at least a year when I'm in the market again.

I guess I'll join in the debate. My vote goes to the Michelin Primacy HP's stock on the FRS / BRZ because they give good road feel with their smaller sidewall compared to PSS.

The new wheels look flat. The first model wheels would hide the tiny front rotors and rusty calipers, now we get to show em off.

I'm not digging the way they shaved the angle off the bumper. Obviously they're signaling they wish they could remove that lip portion all together but because of road safety reasons they have to keep it?

The headlights didn't need changing because the lexus projectors already made it look great, good minimalism. And now the look is crowded with Valenti-style ricer jewel lights.



The steering wheel controls aren't pleasing to look at crammed into the space of the tiny steering wheel. They'll be useless buttons once you change the HU out for a better one.


The added carbon fiber and changes in interior coachwork doesn't look as good. Shiny, easy to scratch and fingerprint plastics mixed with matte pleather coachwork. Nobody likes the faux carbon fiber.

I don't like how they've replaced the digital speedometer, fuel guage, and temp with a single LCD, an obvious square stretching across two circles, unaesthetic.

Also I bet they replaced the familiar door chime with Subaru's annoying and campy sound they're putting in all their new vehicles.

Digging the steering wheel upgrade and the taillights. Hopefully they're plug and play into MY13. Only reason I would buy another BRZ if the motor had a bit of an upgrade.

As a 1st gen MT owner without auto climate controls, everything I'm seeing in this picture is different or wrong to me.

Looks like they shifted all their best designers over to other projects.

The GT-86 and BRZ don't need a refresh, they need an entire reboot from the original team. Whoever is heading the design for the new GT86 and BRZ lines is driving it down.

I'm amazed that they think that a Walmart-class un-integrated HU is acceptable in 2016. And why did they have to replace the attractive octagonal HVAC knobs with those boring round ones?

i don't know about the steering wheel controls...i like the barebones steering wheel we have currently so i don't have to worry about hitting the buttons accidentally..i guess i prefer the stripped down racecar style

Pretty sure Subaru had a hand in this with all that glossy bits and faux stitching to bring about some coherence with the rest of their ugly line up.

If you look at the 2017 Toyota 86 interior they seem to have carried over all of the old little details which doesn't look nearly as bad.
