Yes its a stock mapping.... As i was driving back home from work earlier, I noticed the CEL was gone. Car drives fine. When the CEL came on i also had a burning smell similar to rubber burning. Nothing like rotten eggs which could indicate a blown cat from what i read on this forum. I made an appointment with a local muffler shop to check for leaks and replace gaskets with new Grimmspeed ones. Will ask them to check the o2plugs and the Catted uel for any possible leaks or cracks.
I'll keep you guys posted as i figure this out.

Has anyone else had a CEL come up, even with a tune? And has anyone had an issue with the cat itself going bad?

Although not too common there are others in this thread who have had a similar issue but i don't know if a problem was found. Everyone usually resorts to a tune eventually... I almost pulled the trigger on one until i saw some have a CEL and i held off. And now that JDL is in the process of making a catted UEL it's just a waiting game. Glad these companies are making some great pieces...

Edit: I myself do not want a tune by any means...until the warranty runs out.

The catted header was only tested ( as that is what the community asked for ) on a stock car to not throw a CEL. If you start adding other bits like intake, exhaust and etc you start to mess with the volume of the air moving through the system now which can throw CEL's at the cat then.

You definitely should get a tune if you are doing multiple mods.

I'm having the same P0420 code with the Catted UEL header. Taking your advice (Jeremy), I have put the airbox back to stock (even the stock filter) and put the tune back to factory. I cleared the code as well. So, if it keeps popping up, it's either the O2 sensor or the cat.

Thanks.

My car is running a TRD intake, TRD catback and FT86SF UEL Catted Header. After 4000 miles with no tune and no CEL, I brought it in for a Toyota/Scion 30K service. Since then, I have had a CEL P0420 4 times.

Last week, I installed a Stage 2 OFT UEL/91 Tune. Night and day, folks. NIGHT and DAY. Do yourselves a favor and get a tune if you are running more than one bolt-on engine/exhaust upgrade. Car is smoother, throttle more responsive, better torque cruising and spirited driving. I might need better brakes now as the speed catches me by surprise!

Make sure you do enough data log to see if the stg2 is safe. I went back to stg1 after few weeks of trying stg2 due to FLKC dropped to -1.3 and IAM dropped to -0.83 as well. Gas was good because it never had a know problem on stg 1 with same gas. Car has full engine back exhaust with even secondary cat deleted. Also, as other member told us few comments back, no significant power gain over stg1 tune I can notice. It is still DAY with stg1 and worry free mind~ so I went back.
Take a look at my data log below.

The logging was done after few hundreds miles of learning.

After hearing you guys talk I can't wait for my header. Looks like an OFT is next on the menu.

At this point I have yet to log anything. I was going off the advice of FT86SF and a local tuner shop, who said to do stage two with full exhaust modification. I can try logging one of these weekends and see if anything odd comes up.

Any other folks having issues on Stage 2 vs Stage 1?

I even tried to pull Virtual Dyno on OFT logs of each stg1 and stg2 on same road with almost same weather condition. The result is no significant power difference between two. I know its not real Dyno so the number of HP/tq is not accurate but at least good enough to get comparison of two logs.

I've also run both OFT Stage 1 and 2. No noticeable difference in power, so staying with Stage 1 to be safe.

Here's a random sound clip:
