Minimum 51% Ethanol
Recently I've noticed more and more E85 stations in my area posting this sign on their pumps. It used to be 70% minimum, but that seems to be going away. I'm getting concerned about this because I sometimes run the OFT E85 tune which I believe can only handle a minimum of 60% ethanol content. Should I just give up on E85 or is there something that can done to deal with this change? I'm guessing the OFT tune can be edited to compensate, but I'm not sure how to do that. Anybody tried?

Pretty sure Shiv mentioned you only need about ~E40 to handle the timing on his E85 tunes.
If that's the case, you might be able to get away with just rescaling your MAF.

In either case, I doubt it'd be unsafe to try a minimum 51% mix. Your LTFTs will just be fairly far negative. Log knock and ease it in to the higher RPMs if you're worried.

There's no other way around it...
In order to properly do E85, you need a flex fuel kit and tune. And its not only for safe power, it's also for cranking fueling and proper idle and fuel trims...

Hopefully Shiv will comment on what he feels is okay to use with his e85 tune, but I do know he is working on flex fuel for the OFT. He currently has it working on his shop car. Last I heard he just needed to have some local testing done to make sure it is good to release. Shouldn't be too much longer.

I heard back from Shiv today. He said that the OFT E85 tune is good down to E50. That takes a load off my mind.
