5) The second release of the BRZ tS in Japan (2015) had me thinking that North America would get it also. After all, it was rumored in various magazines. Instead, we got the Series.HyperBlue at that time. The HyperBlue appealed a lot to me, but I was sure that if a BRZ tS came out stateside, I would get one, and in White too! Long story short it was officially announced, and after 8 long months I got the BRZ of my dreams.

My plan is to keep it stock and hold on to it for as long as I live!

5) I have wanted an 86 twin for a very long time. I went to school for car design at CCS in Detroit, and in 2003, Toyota sponsored our senior project. I proposed (and built a 1/4 scale clay model of) a modern day 86. My project went over extremely well. Later I ended up in a consumer research clinic for saving the Scion brand, and gave a 45 min presentation on why Toyota should build the FT-86 concept, and bring it over as a Scion.
After the FRS and BRZ were announced, I had planned on getting one, but the recession happened and went back to school. Flash forward to 2017, and I had a great job as the design director at a major wheel manufacturer, and was planning on getting the new Supra. However, I took a trip to Japan and rented a JDM Toyota 86 in black, and took it to many of Japan's famous mountain roads. I fell in love all over again. I knew I needed an 86, but wanted to get the most special (and most JDM) one I could find. The tS fit the bill perfectly, and I got one in black, to remind me of the trip I took to Japan with my dad (who owns series.yellow. no.1188)

My plans are to upgrade with only oem (STI, Subaru, Toyota, TRD, and Modellista) parts, except for an eventual suspension upgrade, and putting on wheels of my own design.
This is going to be a forever car, sharing the garage with my beloved AE86.

Wow. I'm actually impressed with how the tS looks in black.

I love your story. Congrats on the new car.

Also, please post a picture of your tS and ae86, and if you have an instagram please share! I'd love to give you a follow.

5) I have owned many cars (58 to be exact, lots of beaters and quick sale cars, but some really nice) many swapped Honda's, VW's, Audi's, BMW's, RX-7's, WRX's and most recently two FRS's and two S2000's. Having worked in the automotive dealership game for a long time you tend to acquire vehicles very easily and I'm an opportunist, who gets bored very easily. So I would buy them cheap, see the potential "fun factor" and resale value, mod them, drive them, then sell them and often for a profit.

I bought my first FRS new and immediately fell in love with the chassis and potential. Before it was even a month old, I supercharged it, full suspension upgrades and some aero - Loved it! Alas I went through a divorce and had to sell it. Quickly after I recovered from the divorce I bought an S2000, and as awesome as they are, I didn't love it nor feel that connection I did in my FRS. I quickly sold the S2K and bought another FRS and did simple bolt-ons and suspension and just tracked it hard. The amount of grip these cars have and the ability to ring them out for everything they have at the track makes you feel like an absolute rockstar! I would always come in to the pit after a few sessions and feel so rewarded with my drive. Unfortunately I was forced to sell to free up capital for real-estate investment opportunities. When I could get another car I again decided on an S2k, but this time I was going dedicated track machine, full on gutted interior, with buckets and roll-bar. I quickly found a car and immediately started to buy hardcore parts. I'm nearly complete stock piling parts and $45K later I found myself asking if this was the right idea? I decided to pump the brakes on the S2k project after seeing the new tS and thought I owe it to myself to have a look at one... I walked into the dealer and fell in love at first sight, put my deposit down and said bye, bye S2k, you're getting parted out and sold!

Plans for the tS is to keep it stock for now, compete in a Stock Class Time Attack Series here in Canada then eventually upgrade things using the highest quality parts available, more importantly KEEP THIS ONE! Because of its rarity and desirability, I can see myself having a reason to not want to part with it, especially here in Canada we've been told we might only see 75 of these for the whole country.

5) I have been wanting a rear-wheel drive sports car for a while. My first and only vehicle before the BRZ was a 2005 Toyota Tacoma that I got when I was 16 (I recently turned 25). After graduating from college last May I made it my goal to get something new within a year. My mother has a FR-S which I have always enjoyed driving. After looking at a few different cars I decided that I wanted a BRZ (I couldn't afford a Viper ACR...). I had originally planned on getting a PP package, but once the tS was announced I had my sights set. The tS interested me, because it comes with a lot of stuff I would have added anyway, but I thought it was also cool that they were produced in limited quantity. Where I live there are a billion Mustangs and Camaros, but I can be fairly sure I won't see another tS driving around town.

I plan to add pretty much every STI accessory and make it as close to JDM as I can. Down the road I'll add the Tomei unequal header, Invidia overpipe, Invidia catless resonated front pipe, Invidia N1, OFT.

I have be watching and waiting for something special to come out from either Toyota or Subaru but nothing really caught my attention, I had seen the JDM Ts and thought if something like that came state side I would jump on it... well as soon as I had heard that the Ts was coming to the U.S. I called up my Friend at the dealer and told them to sign me up! after waiting a couple months my Ts showed up early 2-17-18 and I picked it up on 2-25-18 and drove out the showroom, I could not be Happier with the car!

at this time I just want to Enjoy the car as it is but in the future I would like to do coilovers and wheels.

Well, I also have a SC totaled CWP series.blue that I flew to SLC to get..a transient decided to illegally run across a hwy in front of me back on the night of 11/10/16...He didn't make it and no it was not my fault, still paying on a car I can't drive and still fighting insurance for the correct value. I've always loved the tS and always wondered if it would ever be available here. As soon as they announced it I pretty much checked every day on news and when it would come. As soon as I saw on here that they were allotted, I jumped on it and gave myself an early/late Christmas present. Ready for change!

5) I had originally purchased an automatic '16 BRZ when my '95 Honda Accord no longer met my needs. When my fiancee and I purchased a second car last year, I started playing with the idea of trading the automatic in for a manual since I had picked up autocross as a hobby, and eventually want to try full fledged track days. Then the press release for the BRZ tS dropped, and I knew what I had to do! I officially picked it up on 3/8/18, exactly 271 days after the press release... not that I was counting

Story and pictures to come when it arrives in 2-3 weeks

Update 3-24-2018:

It arrived early! The side skirts and front lip did not get there yet, though, so I'll bring it back to the dealer for install at a later date.

I originally debated between the BRZ, Miata, Mustang GT, and Camaro SS 1LE. Getting the BRZ or ND Miata meant being able to keep my Fiesta ST. I almost got an ND Miata at one point last year, but ended up holding off.

Late last year, I drove all the cars I was considering, and the Mustang and Camaro just felt too big. I liked the Miata and BRZ equally initially, but I found more things I enjoyed about the BRZ after driving both of them, and being in a BRZ for several hours. Another thing is that the BRZ community here is pretty awesome and I'm glad to be a part of it now.

I ended up putting a deposit down at a dealer for a BRZ tS without being certain that they would even get one. But things worked out, and almost 4 months later, I woke up to several facebook messages from my sales guy with pictures of the new tS which arrived a few days early .
