RR racing sport brake kit
I am about to order the following brake kits
https://www.rr-racing.com/RR-Racing-...gt86fbk005.htm and https://www.rr-racing.com/BRZ-and-FR...gt86rbk002.htm My goal is better brake performance than the stock brakes and save some weight. I don't think I need those bigger 6 piston kits since I don't track my car. I am not going for looks, I am not even ordering the colored calipers. All I care is better brake performance but not more than I need. Based on my googling, these brakes keep the original rear/front brake balance and provide better braking performance. And, the cost is not too high. Am I missing anything? I would appreciate any other thoughts before I order them. |

What are you doing on the street where the stock brakes are failing?

If you want better performance then just throw different pads in the stock calipers and swap out the fluid. All BBK does is add more thermal mass to handle heat better and prevent fade and excessive wear.

Yes, I know that stock brakes can be improved with better pads, rotors, brake fluid, and ss lines. So you are saying this brake kit will not be better than what I can get from the stock brakes with a routine brake service?

If you are not tracking your car, no need.
Message CSG mike and let him know what you want and your application. He is really good about helping people select a product that would work. |

Okay, you guys saved me more than a grand. I will be ordering a brake service package from ft86sf instead. It was going to be more fun installing the BBK but this will also be fun. Yey, a couple hours of wrench time!
BTW, there is only one thing that can be done on the street: drive within legal limits. And this is what I am doing. |

First off, with the slotted rotors, you get a rumbling sensation in the brake pedal and even the whole entire car if you apply light brake pressure. It seems go away with more brake pressure. The pedal travel is less to get the car to begin diving. I have to re-learn braking points and how much brake pressure to apply. More times than not, I come to a stop sooner than expected accidentally. Also, psychologically I do feel more confident with the car because I felt stock brakes were under-boosted compared to like a Corolla or a Camry personally. I usually brake earlier with the stock brakes because they don't have that massive bite down that other overly boosted brakes are. I don't think stopping distance decreased or increased, but with the torque these brakes deliver, it's feels confident inspiring. Also knowing that my brake distance will be repeatedly the same and it can take more abuse/heat, it psychologically helps me as well. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed with the 4 Piston or 6 Piston. I think the red really pops with my Work Wheels

How long have you had it? I think it's because mine is still pretty new.

@mrg66 I wouldn't have listened to everyone here. You are supercharged I would have went with the big brake kit. You are able to get to high speeds faster, meaning you need to stop faster + the extra weight on the nose
