Um...nothing, as far as I know. The HU itself runs Android; connectivity with a smartphone is just the typical media or phone audio connection.

I think Calum's point was that he drives ... like I do ... with the headlights on in the daytime. When the headlights are on the screen is dimmed to the point where it is useless.

The screen dimming function needs to get "ambient light" information to determine how bright the screen should be to overcome the "ambient light". It currently gets it from "the headlights are on so it must be dark out" ... which is certainly a flawed assumption no matter what the stimulus for them being on ... manual or "auto" ... and dims the screen.

You are correct, sir.

I did get Twilight to work though. I had to turn off "back light" to get it to stop changing the brightness level setting. What I did was manually put the brightness to full with the head lights on and off. Started twilight, turned off backlight within twilight, set the intensity to 0, and set the screen dim to what looked good to me.

If, as you say, you drive with the lights on during the day, you should give it a try.

Every time the radio is paired with my bluetooth OBD scan tool and I turn the car off, I have to pair it up again. Is that normal? With my Samsung S5 phone, the OBD scan tool stays saved in the phone and it just automatically connects.

It will only connect to 1 device at a time, either your phone or the obd, you're choice it should however be able to pair with multiple devices

Ah ok, look in the Bluetooth settings as there is a tick box for auto connect, you might have yours unticked
