10 Series Price now......

Can anyone help me with what a 10 series is going for now?

Here's my deal. I'm looking to sell my 10 as the family is growing with a baby on the way. My wife is not letting me pretend to experiment with doing an infant car seat in the 10 series. I have loved the car and after 2 years will be reluctantly letting it go.

Manual transmission and bone stock, expect for mudflaps, 36.8K mi. Obviously a 2013 MY.

What would trade in value be? What price could I start with in selling private? Eastern Massachusetts.

I'd assume 2k over whatever a normal frs goes for with that mileage. Maybe a little less or more. Autotrader trade in estimate will give you the actual amount they would pay, usually close to what the dealer will.

Get a divorce. Honestly what type of crap is that? There is zero reason to change cars with 1 baby. You might as well get a bunch of cash and light it on fire.

The FRS was made to fit car seats. That baby needs to be in the back anyways, and won't be tall enough for there be a problem until it is 4 or 5. No reason to throw away money now.

Get a divorce, burn the house down and drive the FR-S off into the desert.

As sad a day as it can be there is a time to be responsible.
Check the cars for sale sites for your area and get an idea of what they are going for. Don't judge by dealerships since it is rare you will get those sort of rates through private sales.
You are going to get answers from people all over the country as to what they are worth in their area. Ignore them since they mean nothing.

my wife has an outback for family duty, and i have my fr-s for me. We have two kids. You can do it if you just cart you and your kid, but unless your wife is under 5'3", it's not gonna work with someone in the passenger seat with a infant rear facing seat in the back.

Hope that helps! Otherwise, I have seen used 10 series go for around 21k at dealerships

I own an FR-S, have 2 kids and my son loves it. Yes it will baby. Do I want to do it everyday? Nope.

Rear facing seats are going to be tougher, but go to Babies 'R' Us and try out a ton of seats. if the car wasn't made for a child seat in the back it wouldn't have Latch connectors.

Good relationships are built on trust and respect. My wife respects my hobbies, as I respect her hobbies and interests. I guess I'm glad I married a good one. I'd probably be on my way to divorce if my wife started telling me what I can and can't do. That isn't to say I am irresponsible with family funds; far from it actually.

Being responsible also means fiscally responsible. Selling a car you just bought is never fiscally responsible.

Buying a gas guzzling minivan because you are going to have an infant is not responsible in any way shape or form.

If it is your only car then go look for used station wagon, there should be plenty of them for reasonable money, and they will get better gas mileage and much cheaper than selling a practically brand new car.

Selling a car you just got to buy another of similar traits is not responsible no. Buying something to properly support your growing family is regardless of the hit you will take.
Don't know the last time you saw minivan mileage but they have not been "gas guzzling" for some time now. Besides nobody said to get one anyway.
LOL At least this is not a thread that should have 100 people telling him to get a Miata or S2000!

ok you are right, they play the epa test to get 20 mpg or so ratings. But good luck trying to even get that.

Not sure why you think selling a car for a family with 1 baby is seriously a good idea. I highly doubt it is there only vehicle.

We get well over 20mpg combined in my wife's Odyssey and can get 30mpg on the highway with cruise control set. It beat's out her old CRV in mpg and can double as a truck for Home Depot runs.

I made the presumption that it is the only vehicle. If not then it was too silly a move for me to comprehend.

I have a hard time putting a bag of groceries in the back seat and can not even imagine the horrors involved in putting a baby back there.

Don't all cars play the mileage game though? Not fair to hold it against minivans since they all do it.

Kbb says 18k for dealer trade or 19900 for private. Since you know whoever you sell to is also going to look at that as well. Also I checked, looks like it's only about a 500-600ish increase from the base model.

I bought my FR-S when my wife was 3 months pregnant, and I have made it work for 2.5 years now. Second child is due any day now, and I will adapt to this change (hopefully).

I know you didn't make this thread so we could all give you relationship advice, but I would suggest hearing her out as to why she wants you to get rid of a car, then show her 1) if you haven't paid it off, why getting another car now and rolling negative equity is a bad idea, especially with a growing family. and 2) that the FR-S is rated fairly high in crash test ratings.

This car will baby, and there are numerous people here who would back you up.
