Just spent hours in the wheel thread to conclude ^

Yeah... These are the ones I think.
Would love to see a pic on a slammed car with 2 degrees of front camber.

Tires:
What will fit?
235 40, 245 40? Want a square setup.

I currently have these on my brz, but the clear coat is pretty cracked and faded. Can i remove the bolts and remove the lip with the tire still on in order to refinish the face and lip seperately or would i need to take off the tire?

Ummmmm. No. The guy you quoted says they are one piece. The "bolts" are most likely plastic. IMO, the wheel looks fine; like any wheel of its age and value. I would be more concerned about the 45 series 18" tire. It is to tall. It should be a 35 or 40 series, depending on width.

Anyway, if you want to paint the wheel, you can tape it off and paint it with the tire on it. If you want to powder coat; you will have to remove the tire. They will have to put the wheel in an oven to "cure" the powder.

I know it's possible to re-clear coat the wheel. But clearing over the messed up clear coat won't fix it. You would have to strip the old off first. You can polish off the bad clear. I've done this, it is time consuming. Maybe someone else can chime in with some tips on how to make stripping and re-clearing easier.

If they were mine and I wanted to change them... I would paint them dark silver or bronze. Tape off the lips, scuff the centers, prime, paint, and then clear them. The primer and paint will fill in the light scratches.

Good luck!

This wheel originally came off a forester. (This pic is when i originally got the wheels) which is why the tire is so big. Since then i put 255/35r18 on them.

But i want to separate the wheel and the lip because i want to use paint stripper to remove the old clear coat. I want the paint them as im not a huge fan of the polished aluminum/chrome look. Im leaning towards a bronze lip/barell and a black face.

I just want to know if i can take off the lip with the tire on or if that lip is whats holding the tire bead in. What confused me is when they said its a one piece with a separate lip. Made me think the lip is not where the bead sits. If that makes sense?

I meant when he said its a one piece wheel with a step lip. One piece wheel means one piece, but with a step lip makes me think the lip is another piece?
Otherwise isnt it obvious that if it were a one piece, why say its a one piece with a step lip. maybe im over thinking it lol

Definitely overthinking it.

I used to own these.
They are 100% a single piece of metal.
The bolts are fake, and the lip is chrome plastic. Have fun trying to re-clear that POS.
