Tein Flex Z Problem
like two days ago, i noticed my front right was making loud metal to metal knocking noise when i go over bumps or sewer covers.
so i poped hood and inspecting it and found this this is driver side and this is how it should be. this is my passenger side and found there is gap! I dont know how this happened. how do i fix this? is there damage i should concern? I installed this myself last year and had alignment done by AZP install after a week do i need to take whole strut and address this issue? hope not because i have to get re-alignment again. thanks |

Um, tighten it down with a torque wrench? You should be ok after. |

haha thanks. i cannot just tighten bolt like that. i have to align that hole first. also that top hat bolt is already tighten. it's not like there is more thread to tighten. you have to push that to hole. i think i have to loose strut... Last edited by zc06_kisstherain; 07-11-2017 at 07:13 AM. |

You got me curious too lol I've been having the same metal knock/clank sound when I go over bumps. I'll check when I get home.

yeah..i didnt even bother look at it. i just removed tire and inspected everything and put more preload because i thought it was preload. i drove around again and metal knocking was more noticable (because i put more preload and harder to knock it) so i was like this is not right. i checked again from top and noticed a gap. it's weird that i never touched that bolt from out of box lol |

I think you need to tighten it with torque wrench to specific spec, some people who installed themselves tend to neglect this procedure.
I had mine for about 8 months, I track, I touge a lot, and no problem yet. |

ok. FIXED! it was simple strut bolt. i jacked up car and removed tire then loosed preload then jacked up arm a little then tighten bolt. It's 21mm nut
test drive and 100% noise free Last edited by zc06_kisstherain; 07-11-2017 at 07:14 AM. |
