In fact I have an idea for an engine where everything rotates all the time. I bet it would be foolproof, never leak or have oil issues and would last forever. Old radial engines went through an evolutionary phase exactly like that. Crankshaft was the fixed point. The cylinders and prop rotated.

It was a teaching moment in aviation history.
