Yeah, thats the sound I'm getting, didn't think it was normal because I've never heard anything like it, and as Summerwolf mentioned, this car is made to go to the higher RPMS as I think it enjoys being above 4000 RPMs.

after wiping the dipstick, it's right on the 2nd dot. Should I just go to the dealership and get an oil change? I went to some random place after waiting 2 hours at the Subaru dealership when they told me it would be a 10 minute wait -_-.

I agree it likes high rpm's, but he is driving it hard. Also he changed the oil at 1000miles, they recommend 10,000km oil change, that is because the moly used to build the engine is still doing its job, even after "suggested break-in".

also, if you guys put on a pair of headphones, you'll actually be able to hear what im talking about. If you just have your speakers on(which I just played the video back with speakers), you can't hear the sound I'm talking about.

That's all good, correct level

Don't tell the dealership you had some random place change your oil or you may void your warranty and be liable for damages

Can't hear much in the video to worry about, could be shifter vibration noise as this is a common issue

I don't hear anything. Your car is fine.

(The views expressed in this post does not, in any way, represent actual useful advice. Take your car to a dealer, it's why there's a new car warranty...)

Sorry, I listened to the video with headphones and can't hear anything that is a "MAJOR PROBLEM WITH (YOUR) NEW 2017 BRZ!!!!!"

All I was trying to say is, I sometimes find myself hard on the engine, craving MORE POWERRR. But if redline is danger, then constantly being beside redline is not easy on the engine, it is working hard.

That's me in the video lol but yeah my general rule of thumb is that I always do with a new car is change the oil at 1,000 miles even though I know I probably don't need to, I do it anyways since I know after 1,000 miles I'm going to start to actually learn more about my car, and how it performs as a sports car. I know most people don't like to beat on there new cars but having a sports car that's created around the drivers mindset of having fun should be able to handle a little bit of abuse without the worries. I mean if I wanted to drive like an old man and never enjoy my cars potential, I would've gotten a 4 door or a SUV lol. Just saying, I do love my car, and treat her good so when problems come up like just now, I'm at least being honest and trying to get help to come up with a solution.

Well, I have very sensitive and fine tuned ears to hear the buzzing/grinding noise that doesn't sound normal to me, and I do see it as a problem because I have owned a 2013 Scion FRS and it never made that kind of buzzing/grinding noise PERIOD. I've put over 50,000 miles on her before moving onto this BRZ. I think I will take it to the dealership so they can check it out. Was just hoping someone on here can see what I'm talking about and help me out instead of criticizing how I drive : /

If you listen right when the car hits 47mph and onward, the noise is there and constant through the shifts. Like a rattle, I don't know how else to explain it but it goes from rattle noise to a blade/cutting noise *sigh.

Better to blow the engine under new warranty, than to not have fun!
I can tell from your video, you keep expecting massive horsepower at 7000 rpm, which is not there. I never criticized your driving.

I just think as long as a person isn't sitting on red line, then there's no problem. I've watched thousands of fail videos of people blowing there motor and thats because most of them were idiots holding red line/failing at burn outs. I don't do burnouts

Burnouts are fun as long as you have the wheel locked up to the left or right, it breaks traction easier that way.
At the end of the day, you have a warranty. So, I would proceed that route if the engine is making grinding sounds.
