Thought so
What do you think of 5/30
Is that ok to use or still to thick?

Keep in mind I don't see temps go below 15 degrees Celsius usually average in the mid twentys in Australia

Everyone seems to rave about
Shell t7 I think it's called

5W-30 should be fine, although even that is typically not needed as the 0W-20 does well as shown by uoa's (unless you're tracking the car).

Delvac is a better fit for turbo boxers that spec 5W-30 and 5W-40. Rotella T6 5W-40 (similar to Delvac, same as Shell Rimula?) is popular in N. America because it's robust and inexpensive and Americans are VERY cheap when it comes to oil. We freak out if we have to pay $35 for 5 liters of oil.

Eiter of those in Full Synthetic SN\ GF5 rated in 5W30 or 10W30 will be fine for aussie temps, especially if you track or drive hard

my dealer put in 10W30 at last service. 0W20 is fine for colder parts of world where they see -10C and below pretty often like Canada Europe ect. But here and South Africa dealers have switched to the heavier oils than 0W20 after firts change.

Thanks for the reply mate! My car is up for a service nexf month so i was gunna ask the dealer then what they use and then go from there. I looked up both Nulon and Penrite 5w30 and both websites say they are e85 compatible. Do you know how they perform with Ethanol? From what ive read most people just say change the oil more often, which doesnt bother me.

E85 is a nice pwer increase aprox 20hp on a stock car, better torque throught rpm range, not a huge increase but noticable
avaliability of the fuel is biggest issue and economy will be about 25% worse.
have a read of links below.

Has anyone seen this independent labs test that Amsoil has republished on their website in this PDF?

Please delete this if it's already been posted, and message me to let me know

I've been using mobile 1 for the last 67k and has served me well. Around 30k I switched from 0w20 to 0w30. I checked mobile 1 website which said this oil was okay to run in the fa20. The manual says you should choose the right oil for the conditions and it shows a scale for reference. I have not tacked the car but I will likely run 0w20 racing oil with an oil cooler since I don't think I can find mobile 1 0w30 racing oil.

I also tried calling mobile 1 customer service to talk to an engineer who can explain things very well if you want more information.

Toyota gets their motor oil from mobile 1. You could buy the mobile 1 0w-20 and save a little cash from mark up. As far as I know the only difference is the mark up and sticker on the bottle.

FYI from Wiki

"In 1955, Socony-Vacuum was renamed Socony Mobil Oil Company. In 1963, it changed its trade name from "Mobilgas" to simply "Mobil", introducing a new logo (created by New York graphic design firm Chermayeff & Geismar). To celebrate its 100th anniversary in 1966, "Socony" was dropped from the corporate name."

Now, answer me this ...... why a flying red horse .......??
